oops.....what Lmao yeah that one’s on me - apparently my brain decided to run an RPO and kept the football tab open while the thread was clearly in softball mode. Been hydrating aggressively all day… just not with water.

The editing for this will have to be Oscar worthy

I’ve really come around on softball too ---the pace and the constant pressure make it easy to stay locked in. The way the roster sticks together for years also makes it a lot easier to follow the team and actually feel connected to the players. Baseball just doesn’t hit the same for me. The games drag, the rhythm is slower, and it’s harder to stay engaged inning to inning. I still support the team, but the product doesn’t grab me the way softball does. The energy, the urgency, the way one mistake can flip everything - that’s what keeps me hooked.

I assumed originally that your handle implied you graduated from Texas in '75. If so, congrats! I've been following Texas since I was a kid, and doing so religiously as an adult. That spans many decades, so pulling the age rank card is a nonfactor. It's clear understanding the enemy isn't important to you, and that's your prerogative. I stand by my original position that admonishing others who actually do care about what longhorn rivals are up to, on a board where all of these sports are actively followed, is a head scratcher. Other adult longhorn fans don't need this kind of attempted gatekeeping on content.

2026 Women's Softball Thread
GoHorns1 replied to LonghornFan4Ever's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Sark & Harris? This thread is softball. It’s Mike White -
I’d recommend not watching

I never even thought about that… great point. And honestly, Texas doesn’t really have that problem. Our class is elite, our evaluations are stable, and we’re not scrambling to protect a bunch of short‑term portal rentals. Sark and Harris built the roster with 5‑for‑5 in mind, so there’s no need to yank offers just to clean up a mess.

I suggest you go look at Ian Armstrong's stats and compare them to Carson Tinney's final year at Notre Dame. -
I recommend you take a shot of penicillin before watching

Well glad basketball and football are doing it if baseball isn’t. The level of talent in our lineup was clearly worse than other Omaha teams and we didn’t replace tinney and Robbins 😂.

Your portal freakout schtick in every sport is tiring. Especially when it isn't even over and the draft hasn't even taken place. Georgia is replacing almost their entire team. Texas is not. I would sure hope a team replacing 8 starters and their entire weekend rotation is being more active than the team that isn't. "It's okay to admit Texas is not doing great". They have 3 of the top 50 players in the country committed. You seem to have this vision that we would just bring in 7 elite portal players to play with Pack and Rodriguez, and that is not how this works. -

okay we also dont know how good texas will be but its losing a starter on the mound and the two best hitters it had. The objective is to be better than last year and dont see that for Texas rn with what we have added. The Indiana transfer they just got is really good and repairing much better than texas in the portal. its okay to admit texas is not doing great and not be homers.

I can't speak on how quickly things will go down. Still awaiting a decision from Ethan Mendoza. Otherwise, there are some guys I would take a look at.

Georgia is losing 129 home runs, 391 RBI's, all 3 weekend starters, their closer and their top 2 setup guys. You have no idea whether they will be better or not. They are basically replacing their entire team.
