Both of yall make valid points. I agree as a first year starter there will be a learning curve regardless of class. At the same time we have seen several QBs around the country hit the ground running as a first time starter. Arch was very notably behind for a QB who was part of the program for 2 years, and the O line who made him speed up his decision making didn’t help either. Good news is he picked it up fast second half of the year. Let’s hope he continues the growth and the O line shows up now!

In an alternate universe, QE could have gone pro a year earlier and Arch would have needed to be ready to go (still getting the spotlight and Heisman hype). That's not a dig on Arch early last season, just saying an extra year only helped him, but the OL roster mgmt plan clearly wasn't successful in setting him up as a new starter.

Three years in the system” doesn’t magically mean he was ready - it just means he’s been present. Sark doesn’t hand out snaps based on attendance. Arch still needed real‑speed reps, weight, and timing, and Sark wasn’t about to stunt him so you can pretend “years on campus” equals “game‑ready.” Texas protected him. You’re proving you don’t understand the difference between being there and being ready. I’m done arguing with you --- I respect your posts, I just disagree with you on this.

Even if he were a senior, it was his first year as a starter. That is what was important. He and the OL and TE will be better this year. How much better is what this season is about. 🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿

Redshirt sophomore doesn’t magically erase the fact he still needed weight, timing, and full Sark install before you throw him into garbage‑time clown snaps. Acting like “redshirt sophomore” means he was secretly a finished product is exactly why film‑bro takes sound like they’re coming from someone who learned football off Madden loading screens. Arch wasn’t ready for chaos reps, and Sark wasn’t about to stunt his development so a YouTube guy --- or you --- could pretend it means something. Texas protected him because they actually understand QB development. The film guy doesn’t. And clearly, neither do you.
