We benefitted from Laly finding her control and peaking when we needed it. We HAVE to have someone that can eat up innings and win games in a WCWS three game series.

25-26 Director's Cup Thread
Migas & Fajitas replied to DirectorsCupUpdates's topic in On Texas Football Forum
@GoHorns1 @DirectorsCupUpdates many thanks to both of yall for the many updates and tracking. It’s been enjoyable. -
Coach knows a little something about that. Is it natural or can a coach or mentor pull it out of a player? Which handful of players do you see have the biggest heart? Secondly which freshman do you believe on the practice field will show the biggest heart and the most desire to get better and have a chance to play sooner than later? Thanks

Two ESPN writers, Matt Miller and Jordan Reid, project their top 5 picks at each position in the '27 draft. Meaningless but kind of interesting, just to see where our guys rank. A couple of surprises. We have players projected # 1 or # 2 at the following positions - QB, WR, OT, OG, EDGE, LB Players projected at 3-5 at these positions: RB, WR2, S No one in Top 5 at these positions: TE, C, DT, CB Article link

I'm pretty sure he knows what he is doing
-
Not if that want to 3 peat it's not. They need more experience. Torres and an experienced arm.
-
No it isn't. The job description is to uphold the law. There's no law in the state of Texas that says college athletes can gamble on their own team. You're very confused.
-
Some SEC teams carry 6-8 pitchers. Texas had five last year. Right now Texas has four pitchers and one isn’t even on campus yet. As of today it’s Teagan and three very raw, young arms. Teagan absolutely needs help.
-
omg....that is literally the job description of the State Attorney General. He is defending Texas Tech, a state entity that is abiding by a court order, against the Big 12. The Big 12 is demanding that a state university violate a court order. This has nothing to do with being a Democrat or a Republican or a Longhorn or Red Raider. This has everything to do with the (in my view) terrible ruling by the judge. Paxton is simply doing his job, but apparently most here are too biased to see the obvious.

They had Citlaly last year. And they got Brenlee Gonzales. Mike White always has at least two experienced arms on staff. Right now he doesn’t.

I want Sark to try this with Arch
Dawson Yarbrough replied to Jeff Howe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
This is the type of run that fits the best parts of Arch’s run style. Probably perfect for early downs? Goodbye 2nd and 9. -
Yep, the team is a good team as it sits now, anyone they get to join is icing on the cake.
-
Relax on portal pitcher. Same narrative last year when they didn't get a "back up plan". White will get what he feels they need. Hannah Wells is back. Just the Gatorade Player of the Year out of HS and #3 pitcher in the nation coming in from Grandview.

Softball assistant coaching search?

Well there goes that, hoping for Torres. -
Softball assistant coaching search?

We’re 84 days away from Texas football, and today’s countdown features Lil’Jordan Humphrey, Marquise Goodwin and Brock Edwards. Humphrey had the biggest receiving season of the group, Goodwin brought elite speed and versatility, and Edwards was a steady tight end during the early Mack Brown years. Who gets your vote as the best Longhorn to wear No. 84?

The Spurrier Gators remind me of the Dirk Mavs: softer than Charmin all but once.
-
Yep and don’t forget we had a hand in Florida winning that title in 96. Without it Stoops’ stock might not be high enough to get the OU job.

I want Sark to try this with Arch
Bunk Moreland replied to Jeff Howe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Honestly just about the most extreme position you can put the defense in—you either have to cover four wide or solidify the middle of the field. Fairly impossible to do both. I agree, Jeff—hope Sark tries it. -
From a Texas standpoint, that game created a villain. Spurrier hired Bob Stoops to fix the defense. Florida won the title in ‘96. Two years later, OU hired Stoops to replace John Blake. So, in a way, Texas having to deal with Bob Stoops for nearly two decades is Nebraska’s fault.

Damn I didn’t know Azua wanted to be humiliated in a home regional like that.
-
I don’t know what the backup plan is for portal pitcher but there better be one.
