  1. Past hour
  2. After last night (and through two games), who this team is at its core is starting to come into focus. And I’m happy to admit some things I was wrong about. * Smothers is really good. I was dead wrong about him. He’s a hard runner who can move the change, run power, but is also capable of explosiveness. Maybe above all, he is money in the red zone. That is not a quality to be taken lightly after the last few years. * Sikorski might just be the best LG of the Sark era by the end of the year. As solid as Hayden Conner was in pass pro, I don’t ever remember him grading out like THAT, especially against that level of competition. And he is clearly the best run blocking LG we have seen under Sark. He’s not a finished product by any means, but I never expected to see him making these strides so fast. * Spencer Shannon was a JAG and I never expected him to be anything else. But he’s been really good so far, especially in the run game. After we heard nothing but positives on Masunas all spring, it’s sort of shocking to see Shannon playing as much and as well as he is. * The whole OL. @Joe Z might need to apologize to his boy Flood if they keep this up. I don’t think I can remember us leaning on and physically dominating this level of DL since the Bama game in 2023. They’re not perfect, but they have a chance to be really good by December. * Justin Cryer got a lot of crap from people on this board after the first game, and rightfully so. But he was very solid last night.
  3. Some folks on this board are so insufferable ridiculous. Complain if we lost and now complaining about a #1 ranking.
  4. This French team gave the women hell at the last Olympics so this isn't a surprise.
  5. Man that was so good to come back and win last night with the huge amount of recruits at the game. Not only football recruits but there were some top MBB, WBB and baseball recruits there to see the atmosphere
  6. Personally I would rank Texas #3 behind Georgia and Notre Dame

  8. I believe the question of “If not now, when?” has been answered. Sark did it. And Arch is very good quarterback. So the Negative Nanny’s can cease and desist the comments in the live game post. We play for quarters and you support your team. Hook’em!
  9. Agree totally on this although at this point I don't think as a whole we are #1 right now, but after the gauntlet we will go thru if we stay healthy then at the end of the year we can definitely be in the final game. After watching last night that game could definitely fall on which way fumbles bounce.
  10. Texas has got to get used to playing as #1, and that is exactly what this opportunity presents itself as. It is better to get to #1 now and have a stretch of opponents that we will be favored by a TD, then get to #1 after all those opponents and then immediately have to play LSU. Imo
  11. Chances are it won't hold throughout the season. That's why I'm going to enjoy it while it's here.
  12. Reading is fundamental pal. Look at the whole thread before you make your dumb ass comments.
  13. Yeah, I was a little surprised they didn't let us score earlier so that Sayin and crew could get a real chance to walk it off. I think he was probably thinking they could make the goal line stand because they've stoned us the past two years so he probably felt they'd do it again. Trying to work harder not smarter to prove his team's toughness.
  14. By this I mean UGA hasn’t been the top dog overall since 2022. Top dog in SEC, but they’ve got no more claim to best in the country right now than Texas, nor have they since 2022. 1st in the country is 1st in the country, and that hasn’t been the case for UGA since 2022
  15. Yes, this is the case. Interesting, though, that Smith's name is still on the jersey. Typically, you've got a nameless jersey because it happens on special teams where a guy has to change numbers.
  16. Thought the same thing. The cupcake opponents cost them and IU.
  17. Hopefully they will continue to play a chip on their shoulder anyway. I've been following the Horns for 60 years and I've seen that ranking come and go many times.
  18. France is killing us right now 2nd quarter and they are up by 11. We haven't lost a game in this tourney in forever. WNBA players on both teams.
  19. They should play with a chip regardless. Otherwise, everything Sark says about "prove us right" and "be enamored with us" is meaningless. The team needs to stay focused. Fans don't have to, though. Enjoy it.
  20. In my opinion it would be better to be ranked 2 or 3 at this point in the season and play with a chip on your shoulder.
  21. Embrace it. That's what I'm doing. I've spent too many Sundays covering this team when the AP Poll release was irrelevant. Texas wasn't in the mix. It's good to be in the fight as a contender. It beats the alternative.
  22. I didn’t want it….but the alternative was being #9 after losing to Ohio State- NO THANKS
