Cody Campbell is the problem in the middle of all of this. Happy for him that he made life changing money, but he's using this gift to advance his interests if it means blowing up the whole system. He needs to take a huge step back and realize that whatever he thought was going to happen, it's not worth all this scrutiny. The fact that he was able to weasel his way into the highest positions of power all because of his money is the reason why so many young people think billionaires are a problem in our society. I also apologize because the last thing I want is to have a political discussion, and if this post violates that then I'm all for the mods taking this post down. The problem is that this has turned political by the actions of Cody Campbell and the Texas Tech contingency. There has been this rare unifying front against what Texas Tech is doing, yet no action can take place because of Cody Campbell. How do we move past this? The further this goes on, the murkier the waters get and that's what Cody Campbell wants. -

Oh great, they're putting monitoring apps on his phone.haha At this point, he already knows that trying to log into PrizePicks is what alerted authorities in the first place. From everything that's been reported, it sounds like many of the wagers were allegedly placed through third parties, with him sending them large sums of money and having them place the bets. If that's the case, how does monitoring an app on his phone prevent that from happening again? Are they going to monitor every phone call and text message too? -

Well said!! Where’s code man in this video?! He’s the chairman of the board of regents, I’d love to hear his scripted lies too! Shovanec sounds like code man is under the table squeezing his unmentionables to keep him in line. -
Just a mild spring or fall. I think we had a few days where lows were in then50’s during my 6 month sentence there. 😂 actually, it wasn’t bad there just my job sucked.

But wait, where’s Campbell?! Shovanec can’t even get through this BS and remember what he’s supposed to say. He’s stumbling all over his words it’s a tragic comedy. I couldn’t watch more than 2 minutes of this trash. “We have a center for addiction and recovery that specializes in helping addicts hide from the consequences of their actions. We’ve found it’s been a shining example of what not to do. We call ourselves the ‘null hypothesis’ and we’re thrilled to see how we can continue to show the world what NOT to do. That’s why we sit here today in fact. Joey, please tell us how you as the football coach are feeling about having this responsibility of managing distraction and ruining the integrity of college sports for the sake of wins?!” -

The Big 12 could couch its response as discipline of its other members. It could say that no conference team can take the field against TT if Sorsby has suited up. Give TT the "wins". Nobody will count those forfeitures against the conference foes, nor take TT's "undefeated" record seriously. -

i have alluded to this before. TT had been in the process of gradually building its academic rep over the last decade. It had moved into the top fifth of engineering schools and was attracting National Merit Finalists with full rides. It had done this, quite surprisingly, in Lubbock, Texas. ---- Wealthy donors have done magic for UT and so they could have for TT. I fear Campbell's agenda may send the academic reputation of TT back into the darkness. The State and even the nation really need more first class research institutions that are attractive to top STEM students. Instead, the public and brutal embrace of dishonesty in TT athletics will tar the entire school. Sad. -

The AD saying that the integrity of the game is sacred is as hippocritical as it gets. Reminds me of politicians and how they'll say anything to line their pockets and keep themselves in office. This whole ordeal is gross, and the fact that it involves our state and affects the only sport I love is terrible. -

I think politics aside, this type of behavior whether team red or blue is unacceptable. It shows a lack of character and that you can be easily bought and paid for. I remember seeing a joke or skit about how politicians should have to wear sponsors on their suits or whatever, so people can see who is paying them lol. Anyway, just pure stupidity. It really has exposed Texas Tech and thee terrible leadership there but also the donors (at least when it comes to Campbell). Not been a great time for them and I'm all for it lol. -

Texas energy executive Cody Campbell directly contributed $100,000 to Ken Paxton's legal defense fund following the 2023 House impeachment, later backing Paxton's U.S. Senate campaign with massive financial support given both directly and through associated PACs and dark money groups. BILLIONAIRES get their way YO Some would call this in cahoots
