Yes, we should score more against the defenses left on the schedule, but that doesn’t mean we’ve fixed anything. OU came in allowing 23.1% on third down. After two weeks to prepare, Texas went 3-for-13. Same 23.1%. Arch’s last pick looked predetermined to me. He threw right into the blitz while a receiver appeared to be coming open across the middle. I want to see Sark and Arch figure out how to beat a good defense, not just put up bigger numbers against weaker ones.

Recruiting is too much about money to call them "flips" any longer. Outbids is the new nomenclature. There is a set of players, a rather large one in fact, that are not going becasue a coach recruited them or a system fits them - they are going for the amount deposited into their bank account. Happens here too - do you think Cam Coleman came to play in this particular system or because Sark would develop him more than another coach? Nope - the players we get and others get is pretty much determined by who is writing the largest check. There are exceptions to the rule, but in college football today like life "cash is king".

While the Defenses get easier the offenses they play are much more dynamic. In all honesty I think that equals out with maybe 2 exceptions. If Texas does not get their act together on offense and special teams...its gonna be a long season.

With coach Shart and Arch Simms how can we possibly lose

This team had an identity during the Quinn era. It was initially to feed the ball to Bijan/Rojo and Baxter/Brooks then kill them with our talented receivers. In the Arch era there has been nothing. That’s not 100% on Arch. Just a combination of QB play, 0 pile driving RBs, play calling, and inconsistent O line play to name a few. As it’s been mentioned before, PPG have declined each year since 2023.

I struggle with 50/50 because recruiting is a choice. Sark and his staff evaluated these players, decided they were the right fit, and chose to build their offense around them when they had the entire country to recruit from. If the talent isn’t executing, either the evaluation, development, scheme, or preparation is failing. The players deserve accountability, but the head coach owns all four of those areas. How is that an equal split?

Exactly, unless our offense/special teams finds some magical superpower pill of not sucking a** we will lose 2-3 more games.

Tough call there IMO I think CJ needed a change of scenery, and he wasn't healthy enough last year. I'm a huge fan of CJ Baxter. Hope he makes it to the NFL and sets up his life. Great dude. Real leader as you alluded to.

Seems to me that Arch is best when he's making quick over the middle throws that he can just zip in and struggles when he is in a slow developing play that requires fast decision making, So guess ones our offensive genius coach keeps calling

I get that, but we’re also paying this offense to compete with these type of defenses, if we make the playoffs we’re going to have to play these defensive teams way better

CDC needs to step in and take the reigns of this. We need an offensive coordinator immediately. Out of 138 teams 104th in yards per play 117th rushing efficiency 124th in 20+ yard plays Highest 3 and out rate of any team in the SEC (worse than OU, A&M and Arkansas is outlandish)
