Small world but I would say chances are I did or at least I know your son. I coached EJ here and there when he was in 7th grade when I coached for Centex and then I started my own aau team ATX Wolves for years and coached a bunch of talented kids in the area for sure. I coached Tre for a lil bit when he played some home school ball in like 6th grade but I’ve known that family a while and I’m just happy seeing all 3 of their boys succeeding out there

Obviously the walks by LaFew and Crossland lost the game. I was thinking after the second walk by LaFew that Schloss should go to Grubbs, but Grubbs has had some problems too. That said, the thing that was just a killer all game long was Borba continuously striking out and looking really bad doing it. The Aggie freshmen were infinitely better than him at the plate. That just can't happen.

I have watched every piece of tape on incoming power forward Isi Etute from Luxembourg. She is a big, strong 6'2" powerhouse. I am sure Justice Carlton, who I love, must have seen the writing on the wall. Isi is so much better than her. Isi has a great handle, great instincts, fast, can shoot from outside, can drive right or left and she is somewhat ambidextrous. Yea, those end of year meetings must not have been fun for our portal girls. Addison Bjorn is better than Aaliyah Crump. I am starting to think playing time had a lot to do with these portal entries. Bri Crittendon will likely spell Booker. These girls are ready to play the moment they arrive.

Bullpens are going to allow 3 runs on no hits? That should never happen at Texas. No excuses *in one inning

Not sure if they are squeezing the ball for more speed or what but we have a bunch of pitches hitting the ground. They have to get that corrected. I lost count on how many there were for all pitchers combined.

The bullpen single handily won the series last weekend and the last two games against OU. We barely hit in any of those games. Winter 0.00 ERA Leffew 1.59 ERA Crossland 1.32 ERA Cozart 2.08 ERA Walker 2.61 ERA You can not sit here and say with a straight face that we don’t have a single dependable guy. The games the last month have shown that is not the case at all.

Doesn't mean we have to bounce every last person but most of them haven't been too great and we don't have a single dependable guy you can put out there this year. There's fickle and then there's expected collapse and the latter is where we are with this group.

To your point, Leffew had been good in his three appearances since the Auburn loss until tonight. The same goes for Crossland's five appearances since the Ole Miss loss.

The same guys who won us games the previous 3 weekends? It’s college baseball. Bullpens are going to fickle. Leffew and Crossland have ERA’s under 2.00 heading into tonight. Are they not allowed a bad night?

Have to overturn the bullpen in the off-season. Whatever they're paying these guys, it's way too much. If we manage to make it out of a regional this year they will get bounced in the Supers barring immaculate outings from starters.

Texas has played five SEC series. The Longhorns are 1-4 in openers, with a run-rule win over OU and losses to Ole Miss, Auburn, South Carolina and the Aggies. Three of the four losses have been one-run losses.

Seems like they pull Ruger too early every Friday (except last weekend) and then the pen gives it up.

Seven walks, two wild pitches, one hit batter, at least one passed ball, an overturned CS and an error that led to what turned out to be the winning run scoring. And that's not counting Gumbo's misplayed ball in left field and other chances the Longhorns had to get outs that they let get away. It's tough to win anywhere, let alone on the road in the SEC, when you make that many mistakes.

That’s a Schloss loss. Has to be quick with the hook against that Ag lineup. No reason to let Leffew throw wild for 3 batters. The entire stadium and millions watching on TV saw he didn’t have it tonight after 1 batter.
