2026 Women's Softball Thread
LonghornFan4Ever replied to LonghornFan4Ever's topic in On Texas Football Forum
The only things Texas softball hasn’t done since joining the SEC is win an SEC regular season championship and beat OU in a best two out of three series (regular season or NCAA tournament). But I wouldn’t underestimate OU as they have stacked multiple #1 high school recruiting classes and have won back to back SEC regular season championships and won an SEC tournament co-championship in their first season in the league. They just haven’t had the pitching needed to continue their dominance in the NCAA tournament and continue stacking national titles. Oklahoma has been Texas softball’s version of Georgia. I’d love to see another OU-UT WCWS Final to see if OU is still Texas’ boogeywoman or if Texas is just that program in college softball now. -

Texas and a&m fans will remember when he comes back up for election. You think SFA fans will come out to vote because of this? Bad political move. -

This just sped up that process. You want to freeze expansion, we’ll add them now before the effective date. Then we’ll only play our conference members and the Big10. Oh, and we’re not pooling the media rights. Good luck - you just ruined college sports by jumping in. -

There's a possible leap for someone as explosive as he is coming out of that more restricted system Randy Bennett ran at St Mary's compared to Sean Miller. -
Very good post. I think football ends the big three sports’ national championship drought if they beat Ohio State in week 2. Basketball has a shot at a Final Four run if they stay healthy and get a favorable draw in their bracket. Baseball can make it back to Omaha and finish the job depending on what they do in the portal. Just a fun time to follow Longhorn athletics. This is the best stretch of Longhorn athletics since the 2001-02 to 2005-06 seasons.

They may try to kill the two geese that lay golden eggs but there are so many ways for it to backfire . One.has to wonder how stupid this is. -

All that and you left out the winningest team in college sports history, the men’s swim team. Such disrespect…back to back natty with our brand new coach and still can’t get a mention. Not to mention the women have been on a steady incline too back towards competing for a natty since the 80s/90s with Paul Bergen and Richard Quick as the coaches and 4 time Olympian Jill Sterkyl who just happens to also be a prominent member of the women’s sports department.
