I had been to SA that weekend to visit my GF and was driving back hime for my 10 am class in the English Bldg. I had to be at work at noon, and I had an important errand after class which would have taken me on to the Main Mall, down to the Co-Op, and back to go to my car. I do not know the timing of all this with Whitman’s opening fire, but I definitely would have been in harm’s way if I tarried long at the Co-Op. instead, I decided to cut my class and to run the errand later, and I went home to get ready for work. My Dad called and said: “I am glad you are home. There is a guy on the Tower shooting people.” “Oh, sure,” says I, and he said “Turn on the radio.” I was glued to a radio the rest of the day. TV was not a factor then.

Lb for Lb thats not what is going to move the pile…. Sark gotta be more creative and give Arch complete control to change plays at LScrimage. if Indiana redzone offense is that lethal … so can Texas. Last yr we had no rb thatcould power in or create hesitancy.

Fascinating details

Correction to be clear, I am only saying OGs among the COJO, Chapman, Coleman, and Paterson
-
Viability of an OL platoon for 3rd and short, especially inside the 10 yard line. If I am correct there will be no power gap scheme, no pulling OG. Condensed filled therefore go with bigger IOL ie COJO, Chapman, Coleman, Paterson. Special teams too FG unit. 350+ size guys in theory should be able to push the pile, can they get low enough to not move backwards? Just looking for an answer to short yardage against Ohio State and SEC DL. If they can get that resolved I would feel a Natty mentality throughout the season in every game. Am I correct? That would be the story coming out of Fall practices IMO.

Joe Zura will get permanently banned!

Boo!!!

I would need Joe Tessitore to shout “Texas is back folks!” for real this time
-
ND-Texas for the title.

His point about and expectations of the Texas OL is what I tried to highlight. He's much "higher" on the Texas OL going into this season than most folks are. Experience matters.

It’s a blue blood massacre. Texas beats Ohio State, Oklahoma, LSU, Georgia, and Notre Dame to win our 5th national championship. -

Oh I’m a huge fan of the Derek Cooper freshman rushing record prediction -
Bad juju

Here’s one that might stir up some feelings. Texas loses three games… but still makes the playoff and makes a deep run.

Did you ask Phil if statistics lie? 😂 Phil is the king of patting himself on the back because one of his 19 power sets predicted that “x university” would be nationally competitive this season. I actually think his work is better than most, but if you give yourself enough shots at the basket you have a decent chance of scoring.

#FFN, we gotta be fancy and abbreviate it for him lol.

Yep. Part of his Texas recruitment -
Now you're on the Nansen fire train? Lol.

Derek Cooper breaks Ced B’s freshman rushing record. Texas is top 10 in total offense, defense, 3rd down, and red zone Texas has a Heisman (Arch), Thorpe (McDonald), Nagurski and Bednarik (Simmons), and an Outland (Goosby) winner this season. the OL is a Joe Moore finaliist Texas beats ND in the national championship game Texas has 4 top 15 draft picks.

Are we doing a new hashtag? #firefloodandNansen

Not sure what's "better" in this context. I'm thinking historical importance. I saw the post with the city limit sign for Detroit, TX. I remember playing Detroit in a tournament in Sulphur Springs in December 1988. Their fans had a chant that went something like, "De-Troit, De-Troit. We're coming at you now and we're gonna rule the court, De-Troit, De-Troit." We won the game something like 77-61.
