  1. Past hour
  2. You may be right. I consider elite lateral quickness and skill to be a pretty big deal in basketball. I didn't mention Martin. I said Richard. Further, an elite trait or two won't guarantee NBA success, but it's sure hard to get to the NBA without something elite. Again, I didn't see Duru elevate and shoot from the perimeter. All set shots. Didn't see him go over the rim fighting for the ball. Didn't see him shoot or drive quickly. He could be a decent college player without that.
  3. You couldn’t legally do that. You can’t have a signed agreement with a recruit until signing day. So nothing could be submitted to NILGo/Deloitte. Paying players from a collective while they are a recruit is clearly illegal. Apparently some schools and/or their collectives think those rules don’t apply to them.
  4. No, they could not. Year two would have gone against any cap.
  5. There is a group set to mete out punishment that has the authority to do so. When or if that will actually happen, I can’t say.
  6. You said elite athleticism … In terms of elite athleticism… Florida Gators had zero Clayton is a plus lateral movement athlete, but not pro elite in terms of vertical ability or quickness. 1st rounder Alijah Martin … not a pro elite athlete when compared to others in agility of vertical pop. Second round pick None of the Gators bigs will turn in pro elite athleticism testing numbers, but Condo will be drafted for sure and Hough likely will be IMO, knowing how to play is just as important. And the ability to create floor spacing through range in the current game
  7. I'd say four. Clayton had elite skill. Condon and Chenyilu played above the rim in the post, especially on defense. Richard could get up, shoot, and power his was to the basket with quickness. Maybe Duru can do something like that. I just didn't see it. I didn't see a single jump shot. Didn't see him go above rim level for a rebound. Didn't see any kind of burst or ball quickness. I sure hope he has some of it.
  8. For the athleticism convo … this was Duru’s vert testing numbers as a 17-18 year old … This was NBA Combine numbers this year for all forwards in the draft in standing vert and max vert
  9. How many elite athletes did the National Champion Florida Gators have last year in your opinion?
  10. Staff: Most cycles, it seems like a head coach event at another school (retirement, firing, promotion, hot seat) really benefits Texas via decommitments. Mario Cristobal leaving Oregon in 21, Saban retiring, the '25 Florida class, etc. Which schools' recruits might Texas really need to hang around the rim for this year? I ask because we have been #2 so often with elite recruits this cycle.
  11. He didn’t decide to come over until later. He had a lot of interest if he had made the decision earlier (Baylor, Illinois, etc…) What will hurt him in year one is not getting to Austin until August. You act like everyone doesn’t have any development left as a player sometimes. Blows my mind to be honest.
  12. Today
  13. Is there any player we've missed on this cycle with a bigger upside at his position than what's on campus? Maybe it's wiser to go with the bird in hand. I'd also prefer to be straight with families about the current NIL uncertainty rather than promising them bullish*t. I suspect there will be a ton of movement this fall when recruits see their contracts in writing.
  14. Just my two cents… this is a completely new landscape so I understand the urgency and fear in some fans, but also just like any other year, let’s focus on the bigger picture and give the staff a chance to handle business like they have. My main problem in all this is Texas fans coming off as whiny. If other universities are actually cheating, then lets just play it out and reap the benefits down the road from those institutions downfalls if things will truly be handled as they should regarding the House Settlement.

  16. How can they be signed right now?
  17. I didn't see what I would consider NBA upside. Looks more like a rotational piece to me. Perhaps the raw development tools are there if he has the work ethic and determination.
  18. Everybody else has Toyota Corolla's and going 120. We have Lambos and driving 35 under the speed limit😭. But hey we are in Compliance . They will wake up and adapt or get eaten alive in the muck and mire of SEC recruiting .
  19. That’s what you will find this late. OU and Colorado were the competition. It’s not like Duke was after him. He has a slow shot release from the perimeter too. If he ends up getting more minutes than Codie it means there wasn’t much development over the summer from Codie.
  20. If you believe that I’ll sell you a beach resort in North Dakota.
  21. None of the deals that bind the athlete to the school have been signed yet. Think of the committed as the early rounds of negotiations.
  22. After watching some Duru film, I was a little disappointed. Open set shots and plodding drives. Didn't see any signs of elite athleticism. Hope he has it.
  23. Exactly my fear. This isn’t the same as it’s been. The NIL deal’s have changed. I don’t think Texas has. This feels like prior to NIL in some respects.
  24. Texas is a letter of the law school because it makes them feel superior to others somehow.
  25. With these rules in place… seems like going for the flips again late in the cycle are going to be much more difficult. Makes me wonder why we weren’t more competitive early on and why we came in second so much
  26. There's no way of knowing how this will definitively play out. It's never a good a idea to risk years of problems for a small time, potential gain. We're talking high school recruits.
  27. My takeaway is Seeley and the CSC need to resolve the settlement issues and get moving on enforcement or there’s no reason for him to be pulling seven figures at this juncture.
