Quick destination decisions are what a transfer is. It's expedited recruiting in a short window. January and May both have issues. May at least gives schools and coaches in the playoffs the ability to manage rosters properly. Not worried about the athlete having the time to learn scheme compared to the issues coaches and schools are having. They get paid to figure it out.
-
The problem with that is if it opens in may , your gonna have guys that have to make quick destination decisions and on top of that, does it really benefit a player to come in and have to learn a scheme within 2-3 months?
-
I agree. I personally think the portal needs to be May only. The window between finals time and summer camps. That would make the athletes complete the academic year, the athletes would have a better idea of roster positioning, and it gives some relief to the playoff teams you mention.

Sark's best qualities....

I am not sure what coach our “fans” think is going to come in and meet all the expectations of all the “fans”? Does Sark need to continue to grow and adapt to the changing landscape of college football? Yes, of course. I think he will. The question is will whatever Sark does satisfy all the “fans” ? Of course it will not. But remember that Sark is not going anywhere next season. Continue to voice your concerns but remember what the program was when he came onboard. -

There was a post 3 minutes after his scheduled announcement time and video on YouTube.. Edit: whatever the positive news is timetable changed, not on the OTF staff -
I was there and whole heartedly agree. One of the most fun nights ever. Post game campus Waffle House included.

He made a mistake this off season with regards to offensive personnel. Thats not debatable. Whether he admits and fixes it or not is TBD. I think Sark is a great fit for Texas and the SEC but he needs to ironically learn that the pedal is never off the gas at a place like Texas. Beat Arkie. Beat A&M. Fix the roster. But don’t leave over this one season. That would be short sighted on everyone’s part.

Mismanaged year, But we’re not having a penn state type of season. -
Smdh he wins and this is the greatest comeback season ever (wrong) Close loss and he can’t get over the Kirby hump. (Right for a lot of coaches. Context metters) A final score that wasn’t fully indicative of the game. They are definitely better but the bottom fell out. We had our first game where the team lost its fight. Kudos to ga aggression with play calls. Now it’s fire him, he’s not all in, or he gone. (All wrong as no one knows. I doubt even sark does at this point) Can we act like this isn’t our first time rooting for a team? I love discourse and difference of opinion. Love it. None of what has posted since Saturday is this. Just feelings, emotions, and knee jerks at the ready. I worry for some of yall in that I wonder how y’all handle real life. Do you run around saying your boss is quitting because they’re in a down period? Do you leave your spouses/others if they go through a tough time? Goodness. Compose yourselves! This ain’t texags(and thank everything for that). 🤘🏽

He beats pretty much everyone not named Ohio State or Georgia over the last 2-3 years. That is a pretty nice quality to have. He faces the same thing every other coach in the SEC and Big Ten face in trying to catch those two programs. You'd rather it be that way than continually losing to teams you shouldn't be losing to. -

Yeah, something is happening. We got nothing here about Goosby committing yesterday, I had to find it elsewhere. Then the vague post about something good coming out and silence since… oh and Sark needs to decide what’s going on. My gut says he’s had one foot out the door for weeks -
1000000% but he has also let that happen
-
Sark has a tremendous shoe game.

-
But I’m in shambles Jeff tell me it’s ok and hold me
-
Above all else, we can't lose sight of this point. The program, as it currently stands, needs a tune-up, but it's not in shambles.

Sark to Dolphins, re-united with Ewers. Saban off the TV set and onto the 40 acres in an odd twist of fate. An offer is on the table for Mack to be his OC. Desmond tried to tell you, ya dig? 🤪 -

He has the GM title but everyone knows Sark is the real GM, in the professional sports sense of that word. My key point is that someone has to do the job of deciding exactly how much NIL should be spent on Deandre Moore (as a random example) as opposed to going out and getting someone from the portal. It's obviously Sark doing this right now. This is an incredibly important role in the NIL era, and it's a lot of work. Doing this, being the head coach, and also coordinating the offense is absurd. It's no surprise that we look bad on all three of those fronts. -

How many of the 5 stars that sark got are really panning out like everyone thought?? A lot of the big players the last 2 years were brought in by Herman. sark and his staff are terrible at player development or evaluations. No other to look at it. -

CJ Vogel replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Completely agree. I think he would do a really good job at Arkansas if he made that jump – though don't think that is worth leaving Tempe for. -
just waiting to see all gas no brakes that we have yet to see.
