I agree. I hope Chris, Kevin, and Jim have enough fortitude to dismiss him if it is obvious he's going to steam the program at max speed into an iceberg.
-
Yea I hope you are correct. This is the obvious move IMO. I choose to believe that Sark's narcissism is not so extreme that be will insist on being his own OC yet again. If I am wrong about that, then just fire the guy, because he isn't going to get us where we want to be.
-
Again, I don't see this as "forced". It is incredibly obvious that it needs to happen. If Sark looks at the last two seasons and thinks what he is doing on offense is working, then the narcissism and delusion is even worse than I thought. IMO the two paths are 1.) Sark sees what all of us do and makes the obvious move to bring in a new vision offensively or 2.) Sark shows he is unfit to lead the program and we eat the $30-$50M just like A&M, Penn State, LSU, and FSU all have done. I'm not suggesting we have Sark coaching with an offensive coordinator he doesn't want. If Sark is that much of a child then he just needs to get fired instead.

Oh how quickly we forget. That said can we please get a competent offensive line, pretty please?!

That’s late in Mack‘s tenure (2011), Charlie Strong’s last season (2016) and Sark’s first season (2021). Texas wandered in the desert for more than a decade.

Take it with a dose of satire. Zero percent chance Major coaches at Texas again.

Solomon would struggle to pick up Sark's scheme.

I don't think that's a ridiculous take at all. Not that I think it shouldn't happen. I think there would be major butting of heads if he was forced to hire an OC/playcaller.

Did Sark mix up the O line mid game yesterday?

Injury update on Kade Phillips | Sunday, 1:50 p.m.
Hank South replied to Hank South's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Check our update. I think the timetable is much more favorable on Phillips than 2-4 weeks based off who I've talked to. Possibly even playing this weekend. He wants to. More: -
I should have read your post before responding to Bobby. I just repeated your thoughts exactly. After watching the Miss State again, a lot of the blown blocking was on the TEs and not all with the OL. Why have then inline or offset off tackle if they are going to whiff or get pushed around?
-
ESPN flashed a stat that 35% of Texas’ plays this season on first down have gone for zero or negative yards. That probably explains the inept 3-and-out number as much as anything else. It also explains the high number of turnovers. When you’re constantly in 3rd and long yardage every series, bad things happen (punts, sacks, QB pressure, resulting turnovers).
-
Bobby, when you watch the game again pay attention to the TEs. Their blocking is putrid. A lot we blame on the OL is their fault. I think Banks is a better STs coach than he is TEs coach, and that isn't saying much.
-
My gut tells me he cleans house on the offensive side of the ball. New OC/QB-guru, new OL coach, and new TE coach. I think he retains JabbarJuluke as RB coach and possibly Chris Jackson as the WR coach. I think he likes Austin and the Eleven Million too much to resign. Plus I think Sark is a winner and wants to win.I think he'll do whatever he needs to do to make that happen. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I hope I'm not. I like Sark.
-
I disagree with this. The scheme is not that difficult or different from other RPO offenses. When you have an OL that cannot run or pass block well if a defense gets creative, and QBs who digress in their abilities over their UT tenure, then no scheme you give them, no matter how simple, is going to work.
-
I think there is a real disconnect between Arch and Sark. Not personally, but scheme-fit-wise. Arch is not a great fit for Sark's offense. I get the rumors that the Mannings want Arch to be that guy, a facilitator who can diagnose defenses and get the ball out. Arch isn't that guy, not yet. Does the Texas brass have the patience to allow Arch and/or Sark time? If Arch continues to run as he has, he is going to get KO'd, and he runs the real risk of KJ Lacey looking better.
-
I agree, what has gone on with the defense this year proves that the right hire in a coordinator can make a difference in production, even if the improvements are only marginal, but hiring a new OL coach, and possibly a new ST/TE coach has to be done.
-
This i didn't know. That's interesting. So someone already convinced him to give up the OC role. He must have been dissatisfied with how that turned out.
-
If Chris, Kevin, and Jim are good salesmen, I think they will convince him it's time to become a CEO and take care of all the details in the program that Saban always talked about, and bring a little accountability to all your coaches.
