Top 20 Commits/Signees in the Sarkisian Era

I know Dylan Stewart has traits that translate well to the NFL, but Colin Simmons has been the more productive player at the college level between the two. For Simmons not to have been ranked higher than Stewart coming out of high school is head scratching to say the least. -

We went 10-3 and 7-0 in district that year, we 3-4 kids on that roster go on to play college ball, 1 with a cup of coffee in the NFL. My teammate that made this video is building a house 2 doors down from me. RIP Biko Benefield # 34 he passed away just a year or so after we graduated

Texas is on a roll with its 2027 class, and certainly isn't done given that we are only a handful of days into the month of July. Should the Longhorns bat a thousand moving on remaining prospects RB Landen Williams-Callis and WR Monshun Sales, the Horns will have put together one of the most top heavy recruiting classes since Sarkisian took the job. Which, likely means it is the most top heavy class in a decade and a half considering the previous regimes. But wanted to go through the top 20 recruits Texas has signed each year, based off of the 247Sports Composite rankings. 2022 – #10 DJ Campbell 2023 – #1 Arch Manning, #18 Anthony Hill Jr. 2024 – #18 Colin Simmons 2025 – #10 Jonah Williams, #12 Justus Terry, #18 Kaliq Lockett ... #21 Lance Jackson 2026 – #18 Dia Bell 2027 – #2 John Meredith III*, #6 Easton Royal*, #20 Ismael Camara* * denotes currently committed Longhorns are right in the mix for a top five class at the moment, and the two whales remaining could certainly put them in the conversation for a top two class in the country. Plenty of work to be done until the classes are finalized, but the elite talent that headlines the class is certainly there for this 2027 class.

Perhaps so, but he spoke in absolutes.

That's true, but I think that user was saying out of the big three men's sports (football, basketball, and baseball), baseball has been the most successful of the three historically.

@Blake Munroe Any updates on 2B or pitchers? Anything new on Paz? I assume he’s leaning ATM but he could be special in Austin with some development. Do you know if we still are pursuing another OF after missing on Laya?? I would assume 2B is the biggest team need at this time. Thanks!! Hook em’!!🤘🏻🤘🏻

The program that went 9-21 this year? I think they would agree it’s pretty hard to win year in and year out. -
LSU fans laugh at this take

Was easier to get to Omaha back in the day. Was not easier to win it . Fewer elite programs but Okie Lite, Miss State, Miami , Clemson, and who ever came from West Coast , Fullerton, USC etc were tough outs.

Yes. Like most, I believe Goosby can secure a 1st round spot, maybe top 10. Goosby is obviously expected to go pro after this season. After this season, Siani and Baker could go pro. But..... Siani could comeback to move back to LT to elevate his draft stock from maybe round 3/4 to round 1/2 (potentially $+10MM difference). Baker has guard height and tackle wingspan. Baker will make his case for guard this year. Baker has already shown he can pass block at RT. Based on what I've read, Baker is likely in good position to enter the NFL draft in 2027 as a combo OL but it's possible Baker comes back to further improve his draft stock and solidify his preferred position. Camara could get on the field at LT, RT or OG in year 1. Physically Camara is ready to play in year 1 since he is already 6-6 330+lbs with 3 reps x 705lbs squat. No predictions but I would like to see... 2027 OL: LT Siani and RT Camara But no problem if Camara played LG to allow Baker to play RT. I just want to see Camara on the field in year 1. FRENCH FREAK to TEXAS, thrilled with this HUUUUGE recruiting win!

Gus won it twice in 29 years. Augie won it twice in 20 years. Both in a completely different era of baseball where it was EASIER to win because there were not as many competitive teams or programs who cared about baseball. So it’s great they fully expected to win it every year. They didn’t do in 45 of the 49 years. Insinuating Texas doesn’t want or expect to win every time they step in the field is just some form of message board fan fiction. -
