OTF Premium Going to call a spade a spade

I know you have to be careful and circumspect in what you say. And I 100 percent agree with you on how Arch has carried himself. But if the lightbulb hasn't come on for him in his 4th year in the system and 20 starts history tells you it won't. Maybe he needs a different coach and a different system. It's not working at Texas. Looking at the schedule it's liable to look like he's found it, but I still have no faith once he faces a really good team and defense like Georgia or OSU again rust he will not revert. It really sucks. -

I'm not sure Arch is even 2008 Tebow good. -
....having quite a day with the Packers. He has quickly become a fan favorite.

With the exception of Arkansas all other games are concerning. -

Only a little worried bc we couldn’t do much against a mid UTSA defense, Texas has to stop beating Texas first -
We have not forced a turnover against a P4 team. Chances are this doesn’t stay this way, as the turnovers will start to happen but we need to start forcing TO’s in this big games.

I agree, but Jalen Hurts isn't Manning Inc. Can you imagine the blowback? It's just different, plus Sark is nowhere as ruthless and committed to winning as Saban. Few coaches are. They all work in a sliding scale of political calculation. Just my opinion. But I agree with the concept. -

I hope this is our version of Michigan beating Ohio State in 2024. Seems similar. Ryan Day wanted to call the game his way and they lost 13-10. Learned his lesson and went on to win the natty. SARK NEEDS TO TAKE A LONG LOOK AT THE PROBLEMS INCLUDING HIMSELF. Hook Em! Time to chomp the gators and get payback! -

Totally agree Gerry. I’ve noticed on game sideline shots, Arch is predominantly either sitting and talking with teammates or alone (with a blank look in his eyes) while the offense is not on the field. He occasionally stands on the sidelines watching the field. My question is, why isn’t someone coaching him on the sidelines? Am I just not seeing that on camera? I’ve seen other QBs looking at pics of plays, formations etc. or talking with their position coaches. Just not seen it with Arch. The guy obviously needs instruction. -

Will they though? That would require the guy calling plays to not kill us repeatedly -
The Longhorns offense is historically bad. Shocking stats

If you had the same players that Texas had but the Head Coach and/or OC at the following schools had this same lineup would be anywhere near this pathetic? Ohio State, Ole Miss, Missouri, LSU, Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Miami, Notre Dame, SMU -

But we’re also playing better offenses. So can we expect a regression from the D? -

Thank you CJ. World is not over. Everything is in front of the horns. Just get in the playoffs. Yes it sucks to lose to blowu but its 1 loss. Keep head up and start playing better -
Given the offensive prowess of either team....id say NIL maybe , and the Gators have a first year coach they get a little leniency there because that coach doesnt necessarily have all his players yet. On the other hand Sark has all his guys and the product hasnt looked great or good...maybe mediocre.

I can't wait to go 9-3 and then discuss if a three-loss Texas team should be in the playoffs. -

Yes, we should score more against the defenses left on the schedule, but that doesn’t mean we’ve fixed anything. OU came in allowing 23.1% on third down. After two weeks to prepare, Texas went 3-for-13. Same 23.1%. Arch’s last pick looked predetermined to me. He threw right into the blitz while a receiver appeared to be coming open across the middle. I want to see Sark and Arch figure out how to beat a good defense, not just put up bigger numbers against weaker ones. -
Recruiting is too much about money to call them "flips" any longer. Outbids is the new nomenclature. There is a set of players, a rather large one in fact, that are not going becasue a coach recruited them or a system fits them - they are going for the amount deposited into their bank account. Happens here too - do you think Cam Coleman came to play in this particular system or because Sark would develop him more than another coach? Nope - the players we get and others get is pretty much determined by who is writing the largest check. There are exceptions to the rule, but in college football today like life "cash is king". Some coaches that are seen as great recruiters wouldn't be so great without a huge NIL budget behind them.
