  1. Past hour
  2. OTF is a big part of our lives because we love Texas sports and they are the best in the business. The former athletes and coaches bring so much juice to the program too. My favorite is Tony Hills on Wednesdays.
  3. A lot of credit to the NC State OL here. Great duo and climb from the LG & C, but the TE and LT create a massive running lane. All smothers has to do here is make the alley safety miss, which he does and he’s off to the races.
  4. Split zone. Find your lane, cut and go. Could easily see Goosby & Siani with that kickout block in space.
  5. You will notice Smothers is at his best reading and setting up blocks once he gets to the second level. Another instance here.
  6. whoops...posted on the wrong thread! lol
  7. the vision and cutback here is great. Smothers behind last year’s offensive line would have helped tremendously, given this was common place off the LOS. Add in the breakaway speed.
  8. I would love to see the reverse end zone shot here. Because how did Smothers find a way out of this one in the backfield? Regardless, patience is going to be a common theme here
  9. Taking a Look at Hollywood Smothers' Fit in the Texas Offense *** Earlier in the week, we took a look at Raleek Brown's fit in the Texas offense. Today, it is Hollywood Smothers' turn. Smothers was a 1st Team All-ACC honoree at NC State. In 2025, Smothers ran for 939 yards and six touchdowns on 160 rush attempts. Out of the backfield, Smothers also hauled in 37 receptions for 189 yards and a touchdown. Enjoy some highlights here. -- I wanted to share some All 22 clips from the 2025 season showcasing Smothers', while also giving an idea of how it may translate to the Steve Sarkisian offense in 2026.
  10. That’s the point.
  11. Women's basketball today, Jayla Forbes 6-7 post from Alabaster, Alabama.
  12. Where is the fun in that?
  13. Won’t happen because everyone would know who.
  14. The next "Hi" will be for basketball I bet, but that's probably several months away...
  15. Just waiting on that magical post by Gerry today.
  16. Did you get his autograph? If not, why not.
  17. Madi Booker's best crossover ever
  18. didn't realize Scottie wore #51...voting for him also
  19. Today
  20. He’s always ready to throw passes wonder what he’s shopping for lol!
  21. Note: OTF does not condone stealing the Arch Manning display. (I've been messaged several times about plans to steal this lol)
  22. wow Scottie just hit the worst iron shot he's ever hit on 17...looks bad on TV but I've seen some terrible shots end up ok from some of the other guys so we'll see...but it looks bad from here!
  23. I knew Scholtz when he was knee high to a grasshopper. Whole family was tall. And he did great in the NFL. I vote for Scholtz HOOKEM
  24. I certainly understand people playing off the ball and underneath throws converting the first as frustrating. Some of that to me falls on the player. Just because we’re off the ball doesn’t mean you can’t attack the ball or receiver. Certainly with that comes risk. I always refer back to Rod Woodson with the Steelers. He played off quite a bit, but he was aggressive downfield. He was susceptible to double moves at times for this reason. I don’t recall complaints about their defense lacking aggression. Different era though so that plays into it. I was very hopeful that Will would have become coach those many years ago. I’d love to have played for him. If I thought about that, he might be my number 1 choice of all time in that regard. So that’s how I feel about him.
  25. No. 51 is one of those jersey numbers that doesn't have a long list of household names, but these three are pretty easy to separate once you dig through the history... 1. Stan Thomas (OT) Thomas was a First-Team All-American and First-Team All-SWC selection in 1990, helped lead Texas to a Southwest Conference championship and became a first-round NFL Draft pick (No. 22 overall) by the Bears. That's a résumé nobody else wearing No. 51 can match. 2. Bruce Scholtz (LB) If there's someone who can make a case against Thomas, it's Scholtz. He was a First-Team All-SWC linebacker, piled up 351 career tackles (still among the best in school history), and was a second-round NFL Draft pick. One of the most productive linebackers Texas has ever had. 3. Donald Hawkins (OT) Hawkins rounds out the list. He started 24 games at left tackle, earned Second-Team All-Big 12 honors in 2013, and went on to play in the NFL. He doesn't have the accolades of Thomas or the career production of Scholtz, but he's the clear No. 3 for me. The current No. 51 is offensive lineman John Turntine III out of North Crowley.
