Presumably, this would require every G4 conference to require its members to play at least one G4 team (or Notre Dame) in non-conference. -

Hm, idk how to feel about that. Means Texas would make it in every where under sark though😭 -
According to Ross Dellenger, the CFP is exercising its look-in window for media rights of a new college football playoff structure that would include 24 teams. ESPN currently owns those rights. By moving to 24 teams from 16, it would cause the elimination of conference championship games. Thus, the media rights package would need to increase by at least $250mm.

That's exactly my take on it too.

Was he supposed to know Baxter would tear every ligament in his knee? That Clark would tear an achilles?

This is a message to the LSU administration to get your coach in line. No more, no less.

The way I read it was this is more about potentially suspending Lane. The document I read was that Lane's halftime comments show that LSU doesn't have any "institutional control" so I think they are going to try to force LSU to punish Lane in someway or face some kind of sanctions. I could be way off but that is how I am interpreting this current circus! If the SEC doesn't do anything this time, they will look even more like complete crybaby fools after releasing another statement on the matter.

I think 10 years would be an appropriate time frame.

They could just go to the ACC and have a far easier path to the CFP every year.

The latest LSU drama
Hix Green made the Catch replied to Hank South's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I'm pretty sure that Lane and LSU are intentionally rebelling--it helps to foment an us-versus-them state "patriotic" fight against the big bad SEC trying to "run our lives". I really do believe it is calculated, to the end that it stirs up the passions and frenzy of the "loyal ones" while LSU could go unbeaten and could very well play for a national championship. They could go for undiluted, full-blown victim status--a David vs. Goliath that would galvanize SEC haters around LSU against bullying by the SEC. It never fails to amaze me at the lengths people will go just to get their way--doesn't matter to them the chaos and destruction that's left in their wake. I detest LSU right now for its selfishness, but that's just me...I understand where Lane is coming from, but it's an extremely parochial view...very sad. -
Thanks, GH
