OTF Premium Texas basketball 2026-27 season thread

With the 5x5 rule potentially passing, does this affect Texas' pursuit of one more big internationally to complete this roster? Would the staff decide it is not necessary and be more willing to play Coleman Elkins if needed? -

NHL expanding to Austin or Houston?
Dread-headed Texan replied to Hank South's topic in On Texas Football Forum
😂 go to Houston we have enough weirdos in Austin already. We don't need anyone else moving here. -
The writing has been on the wall for all of these guys so far (With the possible exception of Courville—I really hoped we'd give him a chance and spend that cash elsewhere, but that was just wish-casting, given what we know about Jim and catchers.) The biggest surprise to me is how long it's taken them to enter. I'm impatient for the churn! But for some reason, the baseball portal is just much slower overall. Remembering from last year: Leffew and Larsen were post-Cape additions, and Pendergrass was a spring enrollee. All were contributors this year. Not that I want us to repeat that per se, and be left scrambling after the draft in a month, but it does add some perspective.

With the new five year rule the 2028 pitching staff could look a lot like this. Including the Back To Back headline. -

Sorsby continues to lose as the NFL announced there'll be no supplemental draft in 2026. He's caught in football limbo/purgatory. Wonder if he can get a job at Home Depot, Dick's, Walmart or McD's? Does he have a college degree? Or as a QB coach at TT, where he is so very much loved? My wife said, "he cooked his goose."
-
No. He is eligible for the 2027 draft. The NFL’s rejection of his petition was essentially “we want no part of this“ and since he’s not a member of the NFLPA, collective bargaining agreement does not apply. Not really an avenue for successful litigation. On the bright side, I won $20 betting the under on a supplemental draft. Through a friend, of course.

Me too. Come on @Blake Munroe🙏
-
Sure he can, but he's ineligible. Since he dropped his lawsuit, the restraining order is null and void. He would have to reinstate the lawsuit and request another injunction, I believe. Not sure you can go back to that well twice. The reaction from last time probably poisoned it significantly.

How low to do you have to go to violate the NFL's "core integrity interests"??????

EDIT: Sorry didn't realize there was already a post about this. Sorsby was the only person to apply for the NFL Supplemental Draft. Therefore, there was no intentions of even having a Supplemental Draft until Sorsby's request came in at the last minute. The NFL said, "Uh............No." This a portion of the letter they sent to him per Yahoo Sports: "Your Petition — filed three business days before the deadline, without any supporting information or documentation, and only after abandoning your recent litigation efforts to avoid NCAA sanctions — does not provide a basis for the League to alter those plans. The issues presented by your Petition are too significant, and too closely tied to the League's core integrity interests, to permit meaningful review within the timeline presented."

Oh goodness. This is such an out of touch reply. Lmao
