Kind of disagree to some extent - She signed a WNBA UDFA contract, She did not make a roster, She has remained in Austin, She is not currently playing professionally. Under the injunction’s logic, that makes her situation very similar to the men’s basketball plaintiffs who were granted eligibility. Unless the NCAA wins an appeal before the season starts (which they are actively pursuing), she should be eligible to return if she chooses and Texas wants her. -

Doesn’t matter to me. Texas played against better last season… and that’s coming from someone who respects both players Pope is the much better player, however. -
I was driving down Lamar with my father to the SS office to get my card so I could enroll at UT. We were listening to KTBC AM in shock. I think Neal Spelce was covering it.

Can he play strong safety? -
We moved from Austin to Houston and I remember my dad telling me and my brother about this. I was nine when it happened and it seemed surreal because how iconic the tower, the campus, and the Drag were to us. Things always happen in Austin after I move. I lived in Austin again while at UT until 1982, and then moved back in 1986 for more school. In 1990 my wife, kids, and I moved back to the Houston area for work, and right after that move the Yogurt Shop murders occurred. I've been in the shop where it happened, and again it seemed surreal.

Would we rather play against Jordan Pope or Chendall Weaver? 🤔 Really hope the NCAA denies these guys though -
I was on South Congress when it happened and my father was down at the University. In those days you could see the tower from where I was. No skyscrapers in those days. Very memorable day. I guess I was 14 that day.

Interesting RB option if someone needs it. Texas is fine at that spot I think.

Is there anything Texas needs to add to this roster to shore up a true Natty or bust season? anyways lots of interesting portal pieces announcing. We trust our new kicker?

Bertelsen just passed last year in San Marcos. His Aunt had to send his high school film to Dodds because Texas had no clue as to who he was. Great story in the local Wisconsin paper about a small homecoming dinner for him that eventually included LBJ finally flying in for it. Now the famed 1969 Longhorn backfield has only Ted Koy left. After the first two games in 1968 through 1970, we as students just expected to win everyday fall Saturday. DKR spoiled us rotten. 🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿 -
No it isn’t. Our linebackers have been really solid under him. I thought his play calling in the bowl game was exceptional. I am curious to see how they do in Muschamp’s scheme. What are your complaints about his coaching? His recruiting prowess could be questioned but his coaching seems solid.

Shout out to my guy Edwin Freeman. Also gotta mention Kevin Durant. -
The countdown rolls on with one of the greatest running backs in Texas history. Jim Bertelsen helped power the Longhorns to back-to-back national championships, three straight Southwest Conference titles and a 30-game winning streak from 1969–71. He finished his Texas career with 2,510 rushing yards, 33 rushing touchdowns and averaged 6.1 yards per carry while leading the Longhorns in total offense during each of his three varsity seasons. His 1969 season remains legendary. Bertelsen rushed for 740 yards and 13 touchdowns, scored the tying touchdown in Texas’ iconic 15–14 win over Arkansas, tied the school record with four rushing touchdowns against SMU and earned first-team All-SWC honors while helping lead the Longhorns to the national championship. He went on to become a two-time national champion, two-time All-Southwest Conference selection, the 1971 Texas team MVP and co-captain before spending five seasons with the Los Angeles Rams after being selected in the second round of the 1972 NFL Draft. 35 days until Texas football is back. Hook ’Em! 🤘

Yep...I'll never forget that day. I was a 9 year old kid playing outside and my friend came over and told me about it. It was shocking. Still is.

A senseless tragedy occurred on our fine campus. The Tower shooting. The Tower is a good documentary on the matter. Hook em and RIP to the people lost

I'm not even sure on that. The basketball portal money for a high-end starter is off the charts. Matas had multiple teams tell his agent 5mill if he went into the portal.
