  1. Past hour
  2. Dylan Volantis is on the mound, Adrian Rodriguez is back in the lineup and Schloss has changed up the batting order with the fourth-ranked Longhorns hosting the 11th-ranked Crimson Tide at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. The game is being streamed on SEC Network Plus.
  3. I agree. One more front court player for when Brea gets in foul trouble.
  4. Very happy coach joined us. He’s always been fair and good to me. Appreciate him very much.
  5. Mack is a smooth criminal. At one point of the interview, Gerry asked a two part question and he answered the first one to where Bobby asked a question. Mack masterfully stopped Bobby, and went back to answer Gerry's second question. He's sharp as ever, and makes everyone feel comfortable in their own skin. OTF needs to have Mack Mondays from now on.
  6. Today
  7. I’myou should put those Mack stories into an article. Would be a great read.
  8. I would love to see this group of talented freshmen become the WCBB version of the Fab Five at some point, but with the way agents and the portal works, who knows if all of them will stick around? I hope they do because they will all be fantastic players in college, and hopefully the WNBA. Still need to find at least veteran frontcourt player in the portal imo.
  9. Zya Vann has the same scoring ability as Lee and has good IQ on both sides of the ball. She's got the ability to be molded by Vic into a solid defender too. Her past year looks pretty similar to Lee's freshman year. It's a very good direct replacement. We're just need to fill the holes Rori and Kyla are leaving now.
  10. Re: Ivy League I researched this on line. The Ivies permit neither grad student eligibility nor red shirting. Thus there are annually Ivy Leaguers available to continue as students and as athletes - in the real world.
  11. I don't think the Ivy League permits a graduate school player. There should be occasional top FCS picks available as graduate transfers from Ivy League schools. I could be wrong but someone here suggested this as a fact last year, IIRC.
  12. Already doing as week zero. TV money dictating start times.o
  13. Damn, y’all, that segment from Alfio to the end almost made me tear up.🤘
  14. true and you can never have enough knowledgeable special teams guys as well. guys who know not how to hold on returns or get excited and push someone in the back
  15. Also known as "Venue Shopping." Hook 'Em!
  16. Labor Day weekend is an ideal start.
  17. I understand it's probably not doable, but I'd like to see CDC demand any Texas home games played in August or September must be Night games or at least kickoffs at 7 or 7:30 pm. Hook 'Em!
  18. Gotta believe Mack is loving this! Thanks to Coach Sark for being a Class Act! VY Longhorns HOF & Arch future Longhorns HOF! Hook 'Em!
  19. @Jeff Howe, what’s going to happen with the current Preferred Walk-ons?
  20. Coach Brown always puts things in perspective. So glad he and Sally are back home among his former players, friends, and the new regime. Sark is secure enough to relish Coach being around. Mack Brown will always be close to my heart. I had lost my job right before the Holiday Bowl in San Diego and was depressed. I decided to snap out of it. So I decided to go see if I could watch them practice. I had my 5 year old son with me. Parked my car and we watched from behind the fence. Coach saw us and invited us in! What an experience. I was able to get a bunch of pics too and a signed football. My spirits were lifted. I got another job within three months. I think Mac had a lot to do with it!

  21. I didn't mention this in the story, but there's a draw to Texas for Hudson and the other late portal additions. First, joining the Longhorns beats the alternative of either leveling down to continue your football career or hanging up your cleats. Second, at the very least, you can finish an undergraduate degree or continue pursuing a post-graduate degree at Texas while getting your school paid for, which isn't a bad thing. I don't want to demean what a guy like Hudson could bring to the table. But if he's a positive presence in the room who can rub off on the young guys and put himself in a position to see the field, it's a win for all parties involved.
