  1. Past hour
  2. Becton needs to hire a dedicated OL coach to ensure functional strength and anchoring. Ask baker which coaches give him trouble. Hire them. so for most, iron sharpens iron but for us, iron creates rust?
  3. Sounds like OU is circling the wagoons. Gotta blame someone.......someone with a low buyout.
  4. Are you kidding? Baseball is doing a great job...........but so is softball, vollyball, both basketballs, etc. There are 2 things that will get you into CDC's doghouse: (1) not recruiting at the highest level (2) not representing the University at the highest level
  5. Most satisfying win of the year for me. But none of those 3 teams we swept are the standard. We're going to face a Nebraska/Pitt/Louisville type team in either the Sweet 16 round or the Elite Eight round, depending on the seed we earn and whether we win enough in the tournament. None of South Carolina/Georgia, or even A&M resembles those teams. Nothing against A&M, which is coming off two impressive wins against Kentucky and Tennessee (which was a grueling battle - seriously hat tip to the Aggies for outlasting the Vols)., but they're simply not at that level and haven't been all year long. They're not nearly as good as last year when we split against them on the season.
  6. You mean the 2023 team. The 2022 team only lost to Kansas and looked like a juggernaut for most of the season. We've beaten South Carolina, Georgia, and Texas A&M. None of those teams remotely resemble Nebraska, Pitt, and Louisville. Now, if we managed to get in what looks like the Florida regional, sure. I will give A&M credit that they just beat Kentucky and Tennessee, so they were playing well coming into Gregory. I loved the win. But I still do not believe we have the serving to beat a regional host. And we're still rated as one of the last 4 subregional hosts, so unless we continue winning, including into the SEC tournament, we'll be facing a regional host in the Sweet Sixteen round. It all comes down to serving. Can this team be a better serving team come tournament time? Adding Anderson and Harris - neither of whom are utilizing the top spin jump serve they were showing off at the start of the season - has helped, because we don't have Kujundzic serving any more. Harvey was one of our most effective servers against the Aggies. Even got a nice dig a la O'Neal when she was in the back row, and also laid up a nice assist. That 2023 team was a very good serving team all year long, and simply ratcheted it up a notch. And they still had to fight off a couple of match points against Tennessee in Palo Alto in the 4th set in the Sweet Sixteen round. Same with A&M last year, that barely beat Louisville in the Sweet Sixteen in a match that Louisville probably should have won, then upset Nebraska, before looking dominant in the Final Four. But the key to those teams were good serving. I'm still unconvinced we're a good serving team. We're just better than we were earlier in the year. When going against the top teams, you simply have to get them out of system on a regular basis when you're at the serving line, or you're going to have a series of first ball side outs. We won't face another team that resembles a #1 through #3 seed until the SEC tournament. And I don't believe the SEC has anyone on the same level of the other top seeds. I thought Kentucky would be there, but I don't completely understand what has happened to them, other than they dearly miss Hudson from last year to go with Deleye. "If championships were awarded based on October message-board evaluations, we'd have a lot fewer banners hanging in Gregory Gym." Actually, that's not true. We'd probably have more banners hanging in Gregory Gym. Most of the time we roll through our nonconference schedule and then dominate the Big 12, and are easily one of the top 4 teams in the country. We've ended up losing to some juggernauts over the years, including Penn State and Stanford, not to mention the Elite Eight loss to Nebraska in Gregory when they served us off the court. And on sheer talent we were probably better than the Kentucky team we lost to as well. Having this many losses is pretty much new territory for this program under Elliott since his earliest years.
  7. Sark is dumb for not firing Flood after last season. Literally the worst O line in the country. Boise has a better line. Pathetic.
  8. And this is why the chances of winning out are negligible.
  9. Today
  10. Seems like at the NFL Combine we do well at the speed tests, but I think I remember on a strength test (like say bench press reps at 220 lbs) we performed relatively poorly. This is just anecdotal (I remember a couple of eye popping low bench numbers) - does anyone have any real data to back this up, or disprove it?
  11. Kyle Flood is the boogeyman.
  12. This is even worse considering Miss State’s best dlineman was a transfer who couldnt get playing time with us. (Bledsoe)
  13. If Flood goes, here’s who I’d look at: Bob Bostad, Indiana Joe Rudolph, Notre Dame Eman Naghavi, Houston Tim Keane, Boise Nic Cardwell, Cincinnati Jordan Shoemaker, Texas State Sam Pittman, if he wants to coach again Dwayne Ledford, Ravens Andy Kwon, Memphis Zach Hanson, USC Bostad would be my first call. Houston’s Naghavi is one I probably overlooked. Keane at Boise deserves a look too. No idea who would take it or who Sark would want. But looking at those numbers, I’m tired of hearing we just need bigger linemen or another recruiting class. We ought to be able to block Mississippi State.
  14. Thanks for stopping by!
  15. Those moves make me wonder how CDC handles the role (or lack thereof) after the season. I’d assume if Texas misses the CFP then Sark will be forced to hire someone which may not go over well.
  16. Jesus! Just when i think my opinion on how bad our offensive line play is can’t get any worse i see sh*t like this. Who from the miami staff can we hire to be our offensive line coach? Cristobal seems to be an offensive lineman guru.
  17. Wonderful meeting Bobby, Hank, Jeff and Mathew today at the central nerve center of On Texas Football. Most welcoming to say the least. I truly admire Bobby for his great business sense/entrepreneurship. And every single staffer or contributor is topshelf. Knowledge, humor and toss in some humanity as needed. CJ, Gerry, Rod (cracks me up), Jordan, sorry I missed you. Keep up the great work! @Bobby Burton
  18. @Gerry Hamilton care to explain this graphic and how this is Arch’s fault?
  19. The handwriting is eerily reminiscent of the Aggy Furkcoaster / OU bag o dicks memes from years ago.
  20. Well, he currently has Northwestern putting up better offensive numbers than Texas in just about every category, so there's that. If OU somehow pulls off landing Chip Kelly, they're going to be a MAJOR problem. Also, since leaving Oregon, he was the offensive play-caller at Ohio State when they won it all in 2024.
  21. Why? They can have him. Since he left Oregon, what had he really done?
  22. Clearly AI.....
  23. You can't fire the DC without firing the Head Coach. Sound familiar?
  24. The defense will wear down if we can’t improve our TOP. 3 and outs will continue to take a toll. 🤘🏻
  25. Why did we hire Sark again? Great defensive coach? PKs defense after year one were always in the top 25 in the country, but it offenses never once reached those same levels. It looks like it's just more of the same. Common denominators? Sark, Milwee, Banks, Becton, and Flood. That's it. Everyone else on the offensive coaching staff has changed multiple times.
