It's the little things. Some of our players fail to realize everything is being watched.

We earned #1. Results against good teams matter more than looking good against bad teams. I’m glad people vote on strength of record and not just the eye test. If it was the other way around, the college football season would eventually be full of even more cupcakes and boring games. As a fan with no real stakes in the game, I feel blessed that we have so many big games Sep-Dec. It’s so much more fun (as a non-doomer) to watch multiple huge matchups every month, instead of boring Notre Dame type games. It would be so lame for them if they lose in the first round or two of the cfp because they’re not battle tested at all. We are by far the most battle tested undefeated team right now. That’s why we’re #1 🤘

I agree, but that’s not the point of the poll. It’s a resume based poll, not how good a team has looked. The issue is people thinking it’s the latter

I think this is a fair question. Not sure I’ve seen Arch check out of things very much. But I also don’t know what restrictions he has on him, the gameplan, etc. This is a question Sark or Arch would have to answer (and even if asked, I’m guessing either of them wouldn’t and probably shouldn’t exactly be totally forthcoming).

I’m super excited to finally go to the OU game for the first time. I’m wondering if I should buy tickets now or wait until closer to the game. Been tracking for a while and they’re down from a high of almost $600 to less than $400. I tracked Ohio State tickets and they seemed to hit a low on the Thursday before the game but then shot up. What do y'all think, buy now or hold out? (I noticed prices on the OU side have been plummeting like their team, but I’m going with my 13 year old daughter so sitting with the criminals isn’t an option)

Very concerning we’re having this conversation about a coach dubbed a “offensive guru” when he was hired. Muschamp defense is only in week 4 and already looking elite, But sark’s has only looked elite in spurts while he’s been here.

Agree, but man it’s hard to watch us and UGA and not see them as a better more complete team than us right now. Regardless of the strength of opponents. Just my take. I also want us to play with a chip of feeling disrespected on our shoulder and hate being ranked #1

The voters try to use objective criteria like who have you beaten. But at this point it’s still not clear how good anyone’s opponents really are.

Why do we seem so incapable of adjusting our routes or a play at the line when it seems clear that the blitz is coming? I can't say that there have been many times in the Arch era where I've seen him adjust something at the line. Is this because of the change in offense from Quinn to Arch (fewer of the quickgame calls we saw with Quinn vs more of the deeper routes that we see with Arch)? Pass pro this year has been great as long as we have enough blockers to account for everyone, but in the situations where we dont we need to make some adjustments to the routes that were called.

Our schedule just keeps getting harder and harder even with TAMU and OU underperforming!

Honestly I don’t understand how you can watch football and not put UGA above Texas! They are executing and dominating like they’re supposed to. At this point they are easily the best team in the country imho

I think we all can agree that we aren’t the No. 1 team in America right now. Sure we have the best looking resume through 4 weeks, but our eyes don’t lie. This offense is putrid.

Texas (4-0, 1-0 SEC) notched its 12th win over an AP Top 25 opponent since the start of the 2024 season thanks to a defensive effort highlighted by 10 sacks, five of which came from Colin Simmons. Simmons tied Shane Dronett’s single-game school sack record (set against Texas Tech on Nov. 3, 1990), helping the Longhorns record the second double-digit sack game in school history. With the Texas defensive front dominating Tennessee (3-1, 0-1), Will Muschamp’s defense held the Vols’ explosive offense to 2.9 yards per play, 1.6 yards per rushing attempt and a 6-for-21 showing on money downs (4-for-17 on third down and 2-for-4 on fourth down). The coming week will be the 53rd in the history of the AP Poll that the Longhorns have been ranked No. 1.
