  1. Past hour
  2. seemed nervous . first throw was bad. slooowly got better
  3. What he said about Arch not having touch and just rip is probably going to live in my subconscious all year now. I hope the next three games Arch is not allowed to throw a pass longer than 15 yards unless he completes 10 of 5 yards or less.
  4. They basically ran what sark has always struggled against but disguised it better with their pre and post snap looks.
  5. Also loved seeing this from the freshman tight end in his first career snap. Well done by Nick Townsend.
  6. That is what happens when a great player is not rewarded because you just expect that from him. The stats don't lie on this one.
  7. Taaffe played well. Just felt like there was more impact elsewhere.
  8. Gerry - Is it a lack of creativity—-or stubbornness on Sarks part as he has admitted to himself. 🤦🏽‍♂️
  9. OSU had a good scheme for us and the lack of film did prove to be advantage for them. (We couldn't game plan for them the way they did for us). That's a difficult first game as a full time starter and he melted down. It is what it is, but IMO things look fixable. We'll see how good Arch's mental really is. If he can clean up his game there is a terrific team around him.
  10. It was nerves at the beginning. Now he has a game under his belt in the most hostile environment imaginable. So he will take this experience and improve. Simple as that.
  11. Why no love for Michael Taaffe?
  12. I agree that the plan was manilla, and part of me feels like it was intentional to save the good stuff for the playoffs. After all, if TX takes care of business in the SEC this loss will not affect anything other than our egos.
  13. Today
  14. He also was late throwing when they were coming out of their breaks. One thing good about Quinn was he was throwing before they finished coming out of their breaks break.
  15. Clemson is going to have a challenging season if they can't run the ball, even as good as they are. LSU went in and totally handled the hostile environment. They played their game (Texas didn't get a chance to play its game). We'll see how good LSU is - again, veteran leadership at QB showing. But, I feel better about what Texas needs to fix v. what Clemson needs to fix (running game) this season.
  16. That’s true on a Georgia homer but he likes Sark. He also is very objective.
  17. The argument for Lefau at No. 1 is definitely there. He was great.
  18. Miami receivers bailed Beck out a few times last night. Miami is good, and Beck showed the value of veteran experience v. inexperienced QB, but he's going to throw the ball up and make mistakes this season.
  19. Throwing to the right side is really bad. That’s where he opened up or threw side arm the most. He was arm throwing instead of good mechanics. What is AJ Milway doing? Is he not doing this in practice?
  20. @CJ Vogel Good list but I think Lefau should be 1. Littleton was impressive though.
  21. He ran into about 10 pressures. Missed more hot reads than one could count. You and Gerry are way off. Klubnik was terrible. And regardless it’s not just about Klubnik. The Clemson offense as a whole was terrible. And they were at home against a worse defense. Plus their defense is worse than ours. Ranking Clemson above Texas is a crazy over correction. I tried to tell people in July that Clemson was very overrated and was told they would wipe the floor with LSU.
  22. We obviously disagree about this. Kicking a FG from the 1 foot line to make a one possession game, a one possession game, has nothing to do with going for 50s every time vs 100s. It's called simple game theory. If the score of the game is 7-0, you need a touchdown. Kicking a FG from the 1 foot line makes the score 7-3. You know what is required when a score is 7-3? A touchdown. So you just bypassed an opportunity from the 1 foot line for a TD in hopes of a later possession ending in a TD when you have shown very little offensive pulse all game. It isn't smart. It lowers win probability. You just had as good of a scoring chance as you ever get in the game of football and chose to bypass it in hopes of scoring on a different possession later on.
  23. Want to make this a Monday trend following games this season – a conversation about the biggest performances of the weekend. Please feel free to add your picks for players with big performances. *** 2025 Week 1 vs. Ohio State Star #1: Graceson Littleton Perhaps the defensive highlight of the day in Columbus were the back to back pass breakups forced by the freshman STAR. First, the deep crosser on Jeremiah Smith where the closing speed was truly on display, and immediately after on a slot-fade by Brandon Inniss where Littleton was attached to Inniss' hip. Littleton also had a huge tackle on third down on Ohio State's final possession to force a punt. Star #2: Jack Bouwmeester It doesn't really sit well with me that a punter is one of the team's stars of the game, but considering how far the punting game has gone from 2024, I suppose this is a positive. Bouwmeester was spectacular with his four punts. All four were down inside the 20, with three landing inside the 10-yard line. Above all, none of the punts were returnable, the height, directional accuracy and coverage team were all big positives for week one. Star #3: Liona Lefau The unfortunate hands to the face penalty negated a safety forced by Lefau, which ultimately could have landed him at #1 on this list. But Lefau was great, especially in run support. Lefau led the Longhorns in tackles with 9 and recorded the only tackle for loss on the stat sheet for the Horns. HM1: Alex January – Credited with three run stops up the middle, including one of the biggest hits of the day. Good showing from the sophomore defensive lineman. HM2: Parker Livingstone – Two receptions for 47 yards and the only touchdown of the day. Livingstone was on the field for 65 of 67 snaps for Texas was a very willing downfield blocker as well.
  24. The reality is, you don’t play the national champions on the road to a one score game and hold them to 200 yards total offense with a chance to tie the game in your last possession and drop below #5 or 6. And the biggest reason that Clemson must be below Texas and Notre Dame is that they were the one team out of this group that played at home with a senior QB, upperclassmen all over the place, and the crowd in a frenzy to lay that egg.
  25. And not to pile onto you specifically, but it’s the skee-ball analogy. You have the guy that goes for the “100” the whole time and unless he is lucky he may hit it 2-3x, but me, I go for the 50 every time and never lose. I can hit the 50 with my eyes closed bc it is taking the easier points when they are given. Those 50s add up to 500 from 10 balls when the guy going for the 100 only hits that hole 1-3x per game. It’s an all or none philosophy that can win you games but more consistently leads to losses. This game didn’t warrant the all or none mentality at all. We were moving the ball and they weren’t, plain and simple.
  26. Just me … but there were some key coaching changes impacting teams early season Clemson D will be better. Allen is a big upgrade at DC. They were bad last year. They will be competitive this year. But they don’t portal enough … see RB issues. Miami has new DC and multiple new starters at DB from portal. Stud LB from portal too. Bain is healthy too, which helps a lot for a new DC. They have 2-3 NFL draft picks on the DL. Their OL is terrific though IMO. Multiple NFL guys, including 1st round OT. Got one back from injury that missed all of 2024 too. I really like ND long term this season. Big fan of what I saw from CJ Carr in first ever game action. ND has that covered the next three years. They have talent at the right spots IMO, and a tremendous young coach. With that said, everyone will knock each other off throughout the season. And injuries can truly impact teams long term
