robertson and baker have been horrible. robertson was a known quantity but i think it was reasonable to expect baker to be better at guard than he has been. you can’t hide two pushovers in the middle of your line. it’s affecting everyone else on the line. …and when you run a pro-style play action offense (predominantly with 3rd-down back type RBs getting hit at or behind the line of scrimmage)…and you are unwilling to adjust your scheme to suit your personnel that YOU brought in… [sigh]

I still have my doubts. Even in our championship season OU still came to Austin and took 2 of 3 and nearly swept us. It still feels like OU is the last mountain this program has yet to fully scale. We're sort of like Georgia football who had won back to back titles but still hadn't gotten over the Alabama hump.

I’ve been very vocal about being down on this team and critical of just about everything offensively. But win or lose I really hope these guys get to see and meet kids like this so they can appreciate what a positive impact they have on our communities. I think Texas is over the OU mental barrier. I've been at the last 3 NC series. We wilted on the field under the crowd pressure in 2024. Probably 10k ou fans to our 1k. Completely different body language in the last two seasons.

DEs are going to have to make sure pressure comes outside in as Lacy has breakaway speed if he gets the edge. Also has great yac yards as well as elusive so Texas will have to gang tackle the ball. Lacy has also had a bit of trouble aecuring the ball so there needs to be a lot of punch rake.

Cignetti would be his best option or maybe USC.

No disrespect to those guys on the offensive line but a fork should be stuck in it now. I my humble opinion not 1 of those guys has done even an adequate job. Center gets pushed back regularly. Right guard who was recruited as a tackle has dead feet. Expensive tackle on the right side has failed on multiple occasion to seal the edge. Left guard has been only marginally better than the center and the left tackle play has dropped off in estimation 15-20%. These fellas got named the starter and just quit improving and effort has been nonexistent. The communication across all 5 plus TE has been poor at best. There are more than enough fingers to point. The last 2 years line play has been mediocre at best. So the question is did Kelvin Banks bouy that line. Great players raise all ships. Just my opinion is beyond not having an identity...the offense lacks any leadership. Arch walks around with his head down completely defeated, wr come off the field and you can see the frustration seething out, RB looking bewildered getting thumped behind the los. I dont know if its a leadership issue among the players or if its coaches? Either way what they are doing is falling drastically short of expectations. This great game has always been and will always be won or lost on the line of scrimmage. Lets hope with no more rope...maybe just maybe they will start climbing.

Well, I'm sitting here in my home office watching OTF's "Watch With Us" so my screaming and yelling doesn't really help the team much. But if pounding on my desk and jumping out of my chair did help then I would be worth at least 7 points.

Rewatched this game today to remind myself of what Texas basketball is capable of. One of the biggest wins for them in my lifetime.

There were multiple people that said they didn’t address the line problem. It’s no surprise to me. Others said it was good enough to win a national championship. Always have to wait to see it on the field.
