Volantis, Cozart and Pack Jr. Up for Baseball America National Awards *** A trio of Texas Longhorns were nominated for Baseball America's national awards Wednesday per the university. LHP Dylan Volantis was announced a finalist for the College Baseball Pitcher of the Year Award. Volantis, an All-SEC First Team selection, has been one of the nation’s most dominant pitchers this season with a 2.00 ERA, 109 strikeouts and an 8-1 record across 76 2/3 innings. The sophomore left-hander leads the SEC in ERA, WHIP, and batting average against. OF Anthony Pack Jr. and RHP Sam Cozart were nominated Baseball America's National Freshman of the Year. Pack Jr. has registered a .353/.471/.547 slash line, which accumulates to a 1.016 OPS. The freshman hit seven home runs and knocked in 45 RBI. Pack also leads the Longhorns with 20 stolen bases and has been a consistent fixture in the middle of the Longhorns' lineup this season. Cozart led the SEC in ERA (1.01) and WHIP (0.64), while tying the conference lead with 7 saves during the 2026 season. He has undeniably been the most consistent and trusted arm out of the Longhorns bullpen this season. The Longhorns begin their postseason play on Friday at noon against Holy Cross at the Disch.

Did you see this interview from Vic? He said two of the transfers were shopping around for awhile and the other one didn’t have any options…….basically because she didn’t have a place coming back. Must have been Carlton i guess because she and her mother have sent said some derogatory things about Texas since she left.

Agree 💯 it’s been a battle for me my whole life since about 18 and just now at 44 am I putting together any kind of real recovery. In rehab they told us, this is only the start, it’s a good start but the real work comes when you’re back out. All you have to do is change everything, your habits, your friends, your thoughts, your actions, your perspective. This is a sad situation for the young man, but part of making amends is seeing your part and being willing to accept the consequences and do whatever you can to make things right. “Let go and let God” is a common phrase used, when he ceases fighting everyone and everything he will be able to see the purpose behind all this. Unfortunately, it does not seem like football is his path or purpose to true recovery and freedoms from addiction. I pray for him and his family.

You, sir, are spot-on. Could be a defining moment. Rules are in place for a reason. Without the punishment phase that are useless.

Last night's weather was remarkable in that some areas got just a bit of moisture while others had significant flooding and wind. I haven't heard of any hail damage or tornado events yet.
