  1. Past hour
  2. Except in the case where a school goes all in to retain upperclassmen to win a natty like Ohio State did last year.
  3. It wasn’t even necessarily about you. There’s just tons of talk about this regarding Arch. It seems a bit unprecedented too. Generally speaking, people have lost context. One of those being, if you miss seeing a guy or mid a throw but eventually score 7, just move past that miss because the ultimate goal was achieved. Also, there’s been no comparison to other guys. I used Nussmeier as an example. He’s thrown a ton of passes thus far. His yards per attempt is rather low 5-6 yards per attempt. They haven’t scored a ton of points. They’re having to drive the field, dinking and dunking. I don’t have proof but I’d wager he’s passing, or missing, available targets down the field too. Maybe people will back off the unreasonable standard and get to what is more normal. We have a ton of growing to do offensively. Penalties are one element to cut down. Wingo - not sure what to make of him. We’ve seen Moore get down for a ball at least twice. Wingo has passed on two attempts to do the same. He dropped an easy and has had several questionable routes. For Arch, make those throws on 3rd down to get you that next set of downs. First downs will lead to TDs.
  4. Texas will host Stanford in its home opener. The match will be in the the Moody Center at 12 noon and will be televised on ESPN. This the 1st time the Moody Center has hosted a VB match and is sold out.
  5. Ohio State has just as many flaws as anyone else. They had 200 yards against Texas. 200 and the run game or run defense didn't exist. They may end up winning it all, nothing they've shown says this is their identity offensively and to win it all you need something to lean on. What is that for Ohio State? Can't say the passing game, can't say the running game, they crossed the 50 twice in four quarters. They are not the clear front runner.
  6. Quinn was hurt majority of the season I don’t consider that regression, Arch is getting more comfortable every game. I’ve only seen fans call Sark a bad play caller never an analyst or coach, odd. The reality is this team will get better week to week the more they play together
  7. Tom, is this you?
  8. i like our young tightends. they all flashed. Washington who is the Redshirt Freshman probably had the "worst" game with his drop and missing a block that led to a sack/fumble. But Nick Townsend is going to do some damage as a blocker, and I can't wait to see him with ball in hands as Gerry would say. Winston also had a nice catch with good yards after the catch.
  9. i agree. like in basketball or golf when you shoot and you know it's going to be an airball or slice.
  10. I've seen guys grimace while shooting jumpers, making throws in all sports, tapping puts, etc. I don't remember it leading to wild speculation about injury unless it was already known the guy was injured.
  11. Ohio state is definitely the front runner. They will beat Penn State and beat Michigan. If they play Oregon, it will be in the Big Ten Championship game. We will have to beat them and Georgia at some point if we want to win.
  12. I have never ever seen someone grimace DURING a throw that hasn’t even left their hand, because it was a bad throw. That is some weird squinty logic. Meanwhile, his jank sidearm delivery that we didn’t expect would make perfect sense if he’s compensating for a rotator cuff or AC issue. By the way this is the last thing I or anyone want. But his body language, grimacing etc stood out on the telecast.
  13. A side note on the Arch talk: We knew the level of scrutiny was going to be unprecedented, but it's more than I thought it would be in terms of each outlet/analyst trying to outdo each other on every play. Knew there we talk about good and bad stuff, but trying to figure out his facial expressions and body movements on every play is nuts.
  14. Given that all the "grimaces" come on missed throws, and then he follows up by throwing a dart 30-50 yards, the injury speculation is a prime case of reading too much into the situation. He could get dinged up any time, but there's no reason to think he is now.
  15. I think it was a reaction because the throw was off
  16. Today
  17. Somewhat, but not as much these days Florida won NC last year and was ranked 20-21 in preseason poll UConn had their great run, but look at the teams that were in E8 and FF those two years Teams that have made a Final Four in last three years: UConn Alabama Florida Houston Auburn NC State FAU San Diego State Miami Purdue Duke Times are much different now.
  18. To get this thread on track here’s an update on worthy. Will be out for a while https://www.yahoo.com/sports/article/chiefs-xavier-worthy-gets-devastating-133202159.html
  19. Hashtag, it’s fans like you that give the entire Texas fanbase a bad name. You sound like a spoiled brat who expects every game to have a final score of 70-0. You need to get in the transfer portal because your emotions are better suited and embraced in college station. You realize just how dumb you look?
  20. The coaches see these guys in practice every day. They are much better suited to decide who plays/starts and who doesn’t.
  21. The coaches see these guys in practice every day. They are much better suited to decide who plays/starts and who doesn’t.
  22. I think coaches know their teams better than media and fans do. They felt they needed a TE and a WR. They got one of each. They opted for straight development at OL. We’ll see if that pays dividends down the road.
  23. So why portal Endries? Golden? Bond? AD Mitchel?
  24. He seems like one of the many people that tweet whiny BS at CDC
  25. If we can clean up the defensive penalties, the defense can carry us pretty far. Our offense doesn't have to be tremendous to beat Florida.
