Wait until this transfers over into peds/steroids. Oh it’s okay, he’s just a drug Addict and needs rehab. maybe Kirby says his players are adrenaline junkies and that’s why they speed? the mental health excuse and “irreparable harm” is just a scary slope -

lol, after I sent my last message I thought the same thing. -
This is a great post. This is why Pete Rose should never have a place in the baseball hall of fame. Gambling kills sports everytime. It is a red line that must be enforced.

With billions at stake for College Football Programs…IMHO the NCAA is clearly outmatched FINANCIALLY by financially backed college football programs. The NCAA cannot pay for high priced attorneys who have the time and financial resources to challenge NCAA rulings. Tell me—how can the NCAA even compete?? -

That is subjective. This is a legal issue so wrong and right get decided by the system. I actually still have lots of faith in our courts. I think the decision to let BS play is a bad one, and I think the system will correct itself as long as the NCAA fights. -

Absolutely not . They got away with not paying Mike Leach . They will not get away with opening players gambling on their on team when they are privileged to knowing the injury list . -
FYI Torres originally committed to Texas A&M to play with her sister, however her sister transferred to McNesee
-
TTU had a soul???? Not since Leach left.

Any credibility that college sports had left has gone out the window with this ruling. Legalized gambling on sports across all 50 states and everyone is taking a piece. NIL with no real guardrails. Everyone knew there would be a few schools that would push the envelope and still not one entity took any control. No conference commissioner, not the NCAA, and not any federal or state government. College sports has opened Pandoras box and they are reaping what they sowed. -

Yes legally they are not doing anything wrong, But ethically and morally what they are doing with Sorsby is disgusting -

Just when you thought that the majority of the college football world would unite around the villain that Lane Kiffin turned LSU into.... Texas Tech has entered the chat -

Texas Tech is signaling that integrity in college sports is a thing of the past. It's an idea like amateurism that simply won't survive our culture. -

Exactly, it’s nothing like throwing up the horns when you hit a home run. It’s actually akin to cheating on a test or plagiarizing, admitting it, getting an F, getting expelled, going to treatment for cheating addiction, then asking the court for your actual grade minus 2 easy points, to get back into school, and to tell the school disciplinary committee they have no authority…because technically you didn’t break any laws. -

Would that really accomplish anything? Teams would just have to forfeit to Tech, and Tech would be credited with the wins. In that scenario, they'd effectively only play two actual games this season, plus the Big 12 Championship Game, since they technically wouldn't have lost a single conference game. -

Tech is not doing anything "wrong". They are going through the legal process. If there is a bad guy here, it is the judge. I hope BS plays 3/4 of the season, then gets ruled ineligible, and then Texas Tech has to forfeit their games. That is my preferred outcome. -

NCAA needs better lawyers who can go head to head against high priced attorneys funded by Billionaires (ie Campbell). So far, NCAA legal team has been toothless against challenges from high priced attorneys representing college football programs -
Yes... to the extent Tech had a smidgen of a soul, the president, Athletic Director and Head Coach are without a character. But they ARE "characters."
