I am extremely disappointed. However, one of the things I like about OTF is when they talk about the process of a potential recruit. They will tell you how they got here or how they ended up with another school. Then it’s an objective look at who did come, followed by, is this enough? I do believe they will be honest. However, it still won’t be enough to satisfy everyone. A simple choice of words has led us to this. “All in”. That is why people are pissed. It’s really that simple.

Saturday morning: - NC State transfer back running Hollywood Smothers is on campus in Austin currently. - Pitt linebacker Rasheem Biles is also expected on campus today. Like Smothers, Biles is an All-ACC performer. - Yale OL Mikey Bennett remains on campus from his visit that began yesterday. The Longhorns really like the two-time Ivy Leaguer. - Some folks have asked about the running back situation with Smothers visiting Austin today. Here’s what I’ve learned: RB Christian Clark has agreed to a new deal with Texas but the new deal is not signed. RB Raleek Brown has signed with Texas.

Keep him on campus as long as you can today, he can only visit with Miami until midnight on Sunday. “You missed your flight? We’ll get you on the next one. While you’re waiting, let’s continue to talk”

I have no doubt that Cignetti is a good coach, but I also wonder a little if he hasn’t also just had some luck combined with a killer QB. When I say luck I’m not implying that they aren’t an exceptional team, but injuries and random bounces of the ball are a reality that go hot and cold. You don’t lead the country in T/O margin, 3rd down conversion percentage, and penalty yardage per game by accident, but I wonder if this isn’t the second coming of Bob Stoops 2000 national championship team. That team had essentially no missed starts due to injuries which provided an exceptional amount of continuity throughout the season. By the end of the season they were playing better football than anyone else because they had a level of cohesion that was unmatched. Stoops had really good teams after that but didn’t win another championship.
