  2. I agree on that. Basketball is the most athletic sport of the big 3 ... by far Besides the constant run and jump, changing direction constantly on both ends, playing through the feet and hips on both ends every possession ... it'a totally different level of athletic stamina.
  3. “We are excited and fired up to welcome Isi Etute to our women’s basketball program here at The University of Texas,” Texas head coach Vic Schaefer said. “She brings so much to the table with her competitive spirit, toughness, and physicality, and she is a high-character young woman who is truly excited to be a Longhorn. She also comes from a strong, supportive family, and that foundation shows in the way she carries herself on and off the floor. We believe she will come in and make an immediate impact on our program because of the physical presence she plays with on the floor. Her skill set allows her to score from beyond the arc, in the mid-range, and on the block. She will be a great teammate and really puts the icing on the cake for this incredible freshman class. With her addition, this group has a chance to be one of the most impactful freshman classes in the history of The University of Texas.” From Etute: “I chose Texas because I see myself competing at an elite level and I want to be challenged in a highly competitive program. Most of all I have a lot of respect for Coach Vic Schaefer and his coaching style and his emphasis on defensive intensity and toughness. I truly believe he will bring out the best in me as a player.”
  4. She is going be a huge player for us. I have sung her praises the minute I knew she committed to us. So glad she signed. She's an instant starter taking Justice Carlton's spot.
  5. No. 24 on ESPN's top 100 https://www.espn.com/high-school/girls-basketball/recruiting/rankings/scnext100girls
  6. From the discussion on coffee and football this morning. I think basketball is the eliminator when it comes to figuring out the best athlete. During my playing days I played with guys that were incredible football players and baseball players, but looked like totally inept on the basketball court. You find me a guy that can play two sports well, as well as basketball, and you’re looking at one of your best athletes. On the Horns to me it sounds like Jonah Williams is that guy.
  7. What does that mean?
  8. Time for the BBQ Dinner!! 🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿
  9. Today
  10. Kyla Oldacre signs with the Dallas Wings. Good luck Kyla!

  11. and none of those are under consideration
  12. That would be great. A receiver that gets fewer double teams has to be a selling point. I remember when KD was thinking about going to the Warriors, a major selling point was that he would get more open looks with all the shooters they had there at the time. Same concept. I hope it happens.
  13. That’s not a very strong Hookem 🤘🤘 get those Horns up young fella!
  14. Good luck to the young man
  15. If it was an NIL play, you would go to a school known for ponying up early money - be it Oregon, Slurp, or Tortilla. My $.02.
  16. Let's hope Sark isn't in quarantine
  17. This was my first thought as well. My optimistic hope is that it is genuine and we can make a huge impression and get in the game on this one, but my gut tells me that this is a negotiation strategy by the kid's agent and OSU will pony up the big bucks to make him stay in the Midwest.
  18. They dont even have a touchdown in the playoffs 😂💀
  19. I’m glad they settled down and worked through their issues. Here’s hoping for a clean sweep the weekend.
  20. As Gerry first reported, here's Monshun Sales on his Texas visit
  21. Gotta head north to find Lee’s likely replacement (not too far north though)
  22. Thank you very much, Gerry!! Please keep us posted on anything you hear.
  23. Crooks is a tank but I’m not sure she would survive a 10 min quarter playing D for this team. She is a load in the paint but they would have to change the D strategy.
