  1. Past hour
  2. Miller said they want to put Obiorah on the floor when they can count on him to defend and rebound.
  3. Miller said Lewis Obiorah "is right on the brink of being able to play," Miller said. The 7-foot-1-inch sophomore didn't play last season.
  4. John Clark recently broke a bone in his hand. He's three weeks removed from the injury and can do non-contact activities. Miller said he could be back for Thursday's game against Gardner-Webb.
  5. So he's not injured, he's just suffering from a persistent case of being injured. Got it. 😂 Sounds like something my mechanic tells me right before the check engine light comes back on.
  6. @Matthew Hutcheson in hell
  7. Miller: "Tomorrow is the first time everybody except Matas has played a home game at Moody... We have to get through these types of experiences, especially in the month of November."
  8. Without Lewis, Austin Goosby, Bo Ogden and Joe Sterling are in more prominent roles. Texas is young and inexperienced without Lewis in the backcourt. "Without Mikey, it makes us younger," he said. Miller added that the youth might've shown up in the exhibition against St. John's.
  9. Miller said Texas expects Lewis to return in mid-to-late December.
  10. Regarding the rotation, Mikey Lewis' injury "changed a lot of things for us," Miller said.
  11. Miller hopes to play everybody on the bench in tomorrow's game against Chicago State.
  12. Miller wouldn't be surprised if the starting lineup changed, just like it did last season.
  13. On a possible rotation for the early-season games, Miller said Texas has a rotation. "What's the best version of our team on Nov. 2?" he said. "We should have enough information to know who should start."
  14. Where Sean Miller ranks among the winningest active head coaches by winning percentage in Division I:
  15. Texas has the following possible starting lineup listed in the game notes for the opener: G — Isaiah Johnson G — Austin Goosby G/F — Elyjah Freeman F — David Punch C — Matas Vokietaitis
  16. I bet they’re going to make a play at Wake’s HC.
  17. Is out at FSU.
  18. All good next man up mentality if Kade can't go
  19. I'm on a Zoom call with Sean Miller. We're starting momentarily. He'll be taking questions ahead of the 2026-27 season opener against Chicago State at Moody Center on Monday (8 p.m., SEC Network).
  20. Kade is solid. Hope he gets better quickly.
  21. He did not get abused. Two PIs and one TD. Ask Auburn, Florida, etc. what getting abused by Trinidad Chambliss looks like.
  22. It was a good interview i thought. Bobby had asked him point blank, "is it Arch, is it Sark or a combination of both? Additionally needed to talk about the OL, but get into that part later". He said the majority of the problem is Arch, then the OL and then to some extent Sark. I'll save some of you some reading if you don't like Arch apologists by admitting it up front. I don't believe Arch the problem. I won't go down with the ship for him, but I am not convinced he is the problem in spite of the all negativity he has been given-I would say the same people that ran Quinn out of town are the same culprits currently ranting against Arch. I will also admit that I like Sark and by no means do I want him fired. First, let's see Max's resume. He played for Sark in High School? I believe I heard that correctly. That counts for zero to very little as far as knowing/understanding Sark. Especially 15 years ago. It doesn't mean he can't opine. It also doesn't mean he doesn't know what he is talking about. He was correct in his film breakdown on the play by play basis. Problem is that he doesn't put everything into context, imo. Like, the constant blitzing. Every defense has the blueprint because Sark just hasn't been an effective play caller against the blitz, secondly the freaking OL (which we'll mention more below) More context: Sarkisian was successful when he was solely the QB coach in 2005/06 at USC and the QB/OC while at bama for 2 years. Okay westx, we know get to the point. The point is that now that he is now our HC. If he is HC the who is coaching the QBs, well Sark is coaching the QBs, okay, if he is coaching the QBs, who is overseeing the coaching at our position groups of OL, RB, WR? Duh, Sark is. Okay, if he is also overseeing the position groups, who is prepping the game plan for the upcoming game-gotta know everything from the tendencies to potential mismatches. Oh, well, Sark does that as well. Wow, Texas is so blessed to have a HC who has the God like power of omnipresence. But don't forget he has Milwee to help him. Milwee probably a nice guy, but Sark should hire somebody to complement his strengths by contributing some specialty expertise like the spread or tempo. But, westx, Sark needs somebody he can trust. Yea, whatever, "okay, cool, Hook'em". Arch has been tough as nails. And I am talking about Phil Simms tough. Simms would hold tough in the pocket and took a lot of vicious hits for his patience, but he got a Superbowl win (as a Cowboys fan, I hated the Giants). Arch's weakness is that he does hold on to the ball to long on some plays, but that is easier to coach out, imo, than a jittery happy feet QB. As somebody that has employees, you always want to know what your employees do right and what they do wrong. It is important to remember that 99% of the time the are doing things right and only 1% (give or take) wrong. We only go talk to them when they have done wrong and rarely say anything "when they do something right"-which is most of the time. What the hell are you talking about westx? The point is that everybody is hyper focused on every mistake made by Arch. I didn't see anybody complaining about R Brown/H Smothers for the 60 yards of rushing. I have come to the conclusion and have previously mentioned that it is possible that Sark is asking Flood to coach the OL a certain way. Maybe not, but it is so apparent that they are not on the same page. But, it is pure speculation and probably inaccurate. It could be Flood. Nonetheless, for this reason, I won't just blame Flood. My point above pertains here-Sark didn't coach the OL or responsible for the OL at USC/Bama. There is only one thing different-he is the HC in addition to the rest. Jeff Howe, put out a damn good video as well with Marcus Myers and Coach Shipley. Marcus Myers agreed that the main problem is the OL, but that he is confused on what the OL is being asked to do. I will mess it up if I try to paraphrase further, but Shipley had same great commentary as well. Worth the watch. On a positive note, I finally saw Sark call some screens to slow down the rush. I can't remember who said it on the above video, but Sark himself said that the RBs is the least guarded position in a pass play. Let's hope he is getting back to throwing to the RBs like when Brooks and Bijan were hear. I want to give credit but, can't remember. It is a great point thought. Jeff Howe, Marcus Myers and Bob Shipley
