I’m not sure you read my whole comment initially. I said you have to bench him and that he may not be the QB for Texas.

Start the Dia Bell or KJ Lacey era?
jcash02 replied to TexasFanatic's topic in On Texas Football Forum
In a normal dynamic KJ Lacey should be given an opportunity. Unfortunately the celebrity nature of Arch will keep him entrenched in the position and will likely end up in KJ or Dia (or both) transferring. Arch is not an NFL caliber QB. It's crazy how pathetic he looks as a 4th year QB. -

I used to have to help our old vet palpate our cows. I hope for Colin’s sake, the trainer uses a different technique for his ankle… - Today

What we need is an OC who can tailor the playcalling to suit your team strength. -

I agree 100%!! I think KJ might see the field better and use his short to intermediate passing with accuracy to move the chains and keep our defense off of the field.. just my opinion 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 -
Not immediately but probably if they drop the ole miss game

Well there be any fallout from this?

Right now, KJ is the guy moving forward. Arch is playing with Tyrone Swoopes level confidence right now. Arch is unfortunately cooked. but to be honest, Sark would need to play quick game, which he can’t get help himself. So unless Sark steps down as OC, it won’t matter. -
@Jeff Howe @Gerry Hamilton Please tell me y'all have some inside information on a QB change. And I'm not hating on Arch. I was at the game today and most Texas fans around me didn't trust Arch when the offense came in the game. We knew nothing would happen when the offense came on the field. It was a horrible feeling. Side passes, and Arch throwing into double coverage is almost all we witnessed. The defense was gassed! I believe Sark benched Quinn when we needed a spark. If Sark stays with Arch, he may lose the team! That's all.
-
What other levers does sark have on offense besides benching arch at this point? It’s his last play before folding the cards. He is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He bet his tenure on Arch and it went sideways for whatever reason.

Remember, all we heard in the spring was KJ moves the ball…. Kinda makes me think he would be a good option to try 🤷🏻

Just Venting about the coaching so far.
ChiCityHorn replied to OTFBrandon's topic in On Texas Football Forum
One thing I’d vent about is the OSU game in general I think as time as gone on… I really do think the reason why our OL looked the way they did in the 4th is partly due to OSU defense being on a field so much in the second half + effects of the on field temps (which OSU isn’t used to) when all else was equal the UTSA game showed what our OL truly was. Not great especially in the interior -

Oh boy, I totally forgot to mention the inability to have any answers to the blitz!!! -
(Im just venting about the way coach Sark has coached this season so if you even read this take it with a grain of salt.) I made a post last week after the OU loss about how nothing will change with this program until someone (Sark) is sick and tired of being sick and tired. Nothing will make our head coach give up the play sheet because frankly why would he? If he understands his job is on the line, he is not simply going to cave in and give the duties of calling the offense to another coach. It doesn't work that way. The only thing coach Sark can do to save this season and himself is to reevaluate what he's doing all around as a head coach, not just as a play caller. There is not any excuse for his team to play as undisciplined as they do. By undisciplined I don't simply mean committing a lot of penalties, which they somehow and mind boggling do. What I mean is, there isn't an excuse for Arch Manning to have regressed the way he has from last season. There isn't an excuse for the special teams to be as bad as they've been in moments this season. There especially isn't an excuse for the offensive as a whole to be out physicaled. The run game hasn't been what it was led to be. The line has been just simply ran over, and really bad these last two games. All of these issues come down to the way these players are being coached. It's not as simple as it just being a disconnect from practice to game time. The disconnect is not coaching this team to their best of their ability. You couldn't convince me after the Ohio State game that we would be sitting here on October 17th with a 4-2 record, let alone who this team has lost too. That is a coaching problem. Not a player to player problem. You could blame Arch for not being where he should absolutly be, or the offensive line for not progressing from last season at all, but it ultimatley is the head coach's fault for letting that happen. I want to talk about the OSU game for a second, specifically the fourth quarter. The way the team was coached during that quarter reminded me so much of the 2023 season. Man, Texas really played their style of ball that season. Sure they didn't win it all, and some would say that they were a Jonathon Brooks injury away from doing it, but they played hard every game. The two losses they had, they didn't simply roll over and let their opponent control the game. They fought, and thats what made them great. Texas showed that on September 12th against Ohio State, well for at least a quarter. But one game is all it takes for you as a coach to instill confidence into your team. Coach Sark just simply didn't do that this year. I truly believe he let some media AI gag with Holly Rowe rattle his QB. There's no way as a coach you can let that happen, especially to the type of player Arch Manning is (head shaken). Instead of blocking out the noise and playing your style of ball, you caved in and let a game like UTSA happen. How can you come off beating the number one team in the country and play as bad as you did and defend it afterward? I mean I understand bad games happen, ask Georgia today, but willingly defending sloppy QB play and not holding your team accountable for committing eight penalties to the type of team you played is uncalled for. How can you let your team do that? I just cannot grasp that. The worse part is you go into Neyland the next week and play worse! There's no way you can come out of the UTSA game and have anything more undisciplined than you had the week before. But you do! Eleven penalties for 115 yards is insane! How can that help your struggling offense? I mean they had momentum going in the first quarter, but sloppiness will kill it every time. Sure whatever get the win and go into the bye and rest up and get healthy physically and mentally right? Wrong! Play even worse than the game before! How can that happen?? Just how? I understand it's Red River but what excuse is there to lose that game? How can you not settle your QB down after almost a month since he got rattled by the media and get some good offensive production? That is inexcusable. Not to mention the run game being nothing at all since Ohio State. There should not be a reality where your team plays at the level they do. To quote the late and great coach Augie, "there isn't a single guy on any of the past two teams that Texas has lost too that can come play for us". I mean realistically there is, but my point is, you should have your team running laps around their opponents, especially the two they just played. That issue is coaching! How can they make the same mistakes repeatedly week after week? If you as a coach aren't willing to give up your style of ball, then go out and play for it like you mean it! Why are you still being out played, out coached, out physicaled? Why is that happening? I know! You have become too complacent with mediocrity and its killing this team. Enough with the talk about being good and capable enough. Go out there and prove it! There probably isn't a way where this team magically comes alive offensively in one week. But with your season on the line and what seems to be a top five opponent coming into your house next week, you have to be radically different then the past two weeks. If not, time to hang it up. I have been optimistic with this team becasue I know how much better they truly can play because at least twelve of them will be drafted and play for a good while in the NFL. I'm not questioning the players will to go out and die for this team, but i'm starting to question the decision makers will. How will you respond to this? How can you amend for your teams poor play these past two games? Go out and win. Simple. No more cute stuff. Just bully everyone left on your schedule and control your own destiny. I know this team is capable of doing so, they proved themsevles right on September 12th. Sorry for the rant, Hook'Em! (As i was writing this I watched a way under talented and under allocated BYU team play their style of football and make ND bend to them. Thats what Texas needs. If coach Sark wants his offense to be one way, then coach these players to do so! No more mediocrity should be allowed, the players know it! Instill it!)

It’s truly a dumbfounding situation that is shocking to admit is 100% true. It feels like overnight we’ve gone from back to back national semis to it being existential moment for Sark on his side of the ball. and unlike other dark offensive years — this is not a talent problem. which makes it more wild.
-
A lot of quarterbacks have strong arms and can run. They just don’t do it very well. He’s been here four years and doesn’t know the offense? The coach/oc has not changed. How many more years does he need?
-
Today was gross and there’s no arguing that. This offense also averaged the most YPP any team has against OUs defense all season. Bama scored 10 at Tennessee today. Indiana got held to 10 against tOSU. What I’m saying is that perspective in competition is needed. Texas should have thrown all over Florida today, but it didn’t. I think that’s partly an offensive issue, but also I think it’s an issue coming off the RRS. 2023 (a bad Houston team), 2024 (Georgia at home) and 2025 (Kentucky) were all disgusting offensive performances by Texas in their first game after the RRS. After cooling off, I’m holding off judgement until next weekend.

Don't see a VY on this team. Certainly dont see all world OL plus another 10 NFL guys on this roster. What happened 20+ years ago are relevant how?

Miami got super lucky too they almost lost to a really bad Florida State team.
