Regarding the potential of an Alabama loss in the SECCG, the committee has consistently stated that teams will not be penalized from losing a CCG (as they shouldn't).

Saw just 7 snaps after week five of the season. Six appearances on the season. Was a redshirt junior per Tennessee. 6-foot-3-inches and 315 pounds. -
Heard there’s a guy in Baton Rouge who’d be interested

Texas record against Playoff Teams
Blue Horn replied to Blue Horn's topic in On Texas Football Forum
But with College BB the tournament is large enough that you can give out consolation prizes. In BB a Cinderella story is much more likely because the squads are smaller and there is less potential for injury. -
Tracking Portal Entrants Across the Country *** Starting an ongoing thread for portal entrants this December and January. There will be a separate thread for Texas entrants, but this should provide an idea of which talent elsewhere is going to be on the move this offseason.

Daboer is the only name I've heard for Penn State that is an upgrade over James Franklin.

Cancel Ohio State Immediately
Horn Fan 51 replied to wosmustangs1979's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Completely agree. People can say "hey, you should not have lost to Florida. They are not any good." 100% true. The point is: had we scheduled someone...not of Ohio State's caliber, we would be sitting at 10-2 and an absolute no-brainer for the playoffs with 2 top 5 wins and 3 top 9 wins (at the time we played them). We do not really gain anything by playing them. Let us also say we beat OSU, but things are still the same (still have losses to Florida and Georgia [I hope we beat them someday])....what have we really gained? Nothing. We are still 10-2 and still in the playoffs. JUST like we would be if we had either: not scheduled Ohio State or beaten Florida. It is tough enough as it is. I see no reason to make it tougher on ourselves. And let me add: I have ALWAYS respected (and loved) our willingness to play an elite non-conference game at the beginning of the season. So, while sure people can say: "well, just win that tough non-conference game", and its true...it is also a needless risk we do not HAVE to take to make the playoffs. Hook 'Em! -
Yeah, I ignored that knucklehead so I don't even see his posts.

Derrek Cooper and Jermaine Bishop Jr.
TheNightKing replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
its not like he is doing this in 2A or something too. this is 6A II football lmao. If he does anything like this to desoto he should be the #1 player in the class. -
so the Ole Miss logic. How about no? 😂 Do you have a great Sark replacement up your sleeve? Options seem a bit scarce to me
-
Sark isn't leaving Texas and I doubt Deboer leaves this cycle (despite how poorly I think the fit is with him at Bama). If Auburn hadn't fumbled the Iron Bowl away I think Deboer would be on the next flight out of Tuscaloosa to Penn State.

Great job by Sark. I'm glad Texas is putting the threat out there to change their OOC schedule based on what the CFP committee does. College Football doesn't wanna lose those OOC elite games, otherwise the first 4-5 weeks of the season are going to be super boring and hard to market.

The Alabama job is going to be a no-win situation for a while. Gene Stallings actually won a national title between Bear Bryant and Saban and it seems like a footnote in that program’s history. You‘d have to leave Alabama as the greatest coach in college football history to live up to expectations.

I wouldn't

Florida was a frustrating team this year
CHorn427 replied to CHorn427's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Strongly agree. I would also argue that Florida has an AD problem. That’s what saved Texas. Florida needs a better AD. But I’ll happily wait for them to realize that until they fall off our schedule for a couple of years. -
Great pick. I had Daboll on the back of my mind as an offensive assistant at Texas for one year with Sark to rebuild himself and then go after another HC job at any level in 2027. I hope he lands wherever he wants because I think he’s a helluva coach.

Florida was a frustrating team this year
Jeff Howe replied to CHorn427's topic in On Texas Football Forum
There are a lot of similarities between post-Urban Meyer Florida and post-Mack Brown Texas. Sark has Texas in a good spot while Florida is about to be on its fifth coach since Meyer “retired” after the 2010 season. Florida doesn’t have a talent problem. It has a culture/alignment problem. -
Sark isn't leaving Texas for Alabama. He has two children enrolled currently. His daughter just stated law school at UT and I've read his third child may be the next Texas enrollee. Plus, he has a seven month old. You think his wife wants to leave Austin for Tuscaloosa. You don't know her very well then.

Derrek Cooper and Jermaine Bishop Jr.

He's ridiculous. -
Well Kentucky is open, he can go there
-
I want to see the kind of staff he’d put together, but there are worse candidates Penn State could hire besides Brian Daboll. He got the Saban endorsement, so he has that going for him, which is nice.

Apologies for the link showing a different site but here’s his comments… says they’ll look at scheduling differently in the OOC games https://www.on3.com/teams/texas-longhorns/news/steve-sarkisian-takes-to-tv-to-discuss-texas-college-football-playoff-case/

Unless Tech came open for whatever reason, I can’t see Riley making a move that would be unanimously considered a step down. That he hasn’t been happy at SC isn’t a secret, that much I know.
