  2. Last week I asked which underdog would win outright. Answer: none of them. All six favorites won, and five of the six covered. The only one that didn't was Alabama, who beat A&M by 11 as a 14.5-point favorite. I definitely didn't see that one coming, and it felt like A&M might be able to pull off the impossible until the 4th quarter. The crowd had it backwards in two spots: 69% took Ole Miss +3.5 and Texas won by 7, and 76% took Tennessee +2.5 and South Carolina won by 3. So much for my hunches, too, with both Texas and South Carolina covering. Congrats to @Ryan Clement, who Holds the Mayo after going 5-1 in Week 8. Nobody else got past 4-2. Week 9 is open. Five SEC games against the spread, best record Holds the Mayo, ties go to whoever picked first: Auburn at Ole Miss (-13.5), 11:45 AM CT Florida vs Georgia (-10.5), 2:30 PM CT South Carolina at Oklahoma (-5.5), 3:15 PM CT Mississippi State at Texas (-21.5), 6:30 PM CT Missouri (-10.5) at Arkansas, 6:45 PM CT The pick for each game locks at its own kickoff, and you can change your picks any time between now and then without losing your place in line. Two weeks ago the underdogs ran wild and last week the favorites swept. So which is it this week? Texas laying 21.5 after a one-score game with Ole Miss feels like a lot to me, but with Super Kamario likely out I think it's possible, especially if Texas continues to find its groove on offense. Personally I think South Carolina will win outright against OU, and I will definitely be hate watching that one. Let's make it two in a row Saturday night. stance.fm/mayo Hook 'em! 🤘
  3. Very insightful, intelligent opinion. Not really a take as much as factual statements.
  4. We've had 31 head coaches and 2 have won a national title.
  5. I love it! Its hilarious that he responds to X posts. So funny
  6. TWC now has 43% chance of rain.. Yuck

  8. The true issue is, There is something about the offense Sark doesn’t trust. What seems to happen is When the offense puts together drives it keeps the defense fresh. When the defense is fresh we don’t have to go as far down the depth chart and the front end defenders seem to play better. Of course the 3 and outs start and the defense seems tired. At some point Sark has to go with his BEST run blocking line, call less deep shots and take what the defense gives him.. that formula will have us playing for a while. If Arch is the problem then take the problem out as the center piece of the game plan. Use and rotate backs behind your best run blocking line
  9. Texas has been outscored by a 31-3 margin in its SEC third-quarter
  10. Florida did this against us too. Luckily our defense was so tired it went for positive yards. Just another reason to #fireflood @Joe Z. Now that your ducks are Peking do you think DK might come back home?
  11. There other back is pretty good too. I’m more concerned with their defense and how they adjust to various offenses.
  12. I have found that if you are in the upper bowl, ponchos are completely useless. Haven’t experienced a rain game in a decade or so but I can remember from my days in the various iterations of the student sections.
  13. I think Beamer has pulled a rabbit out of the hat. If they whoop Clemson, he will be on the sideline next year.
  14. It’s like he’s trying to channel his Phil Jackson zen mode. Kosi cannot continue to play that out of control. He was killing us on special teams.
  15. we have a head to head loss vs Florida, both have 2 conf losses. We need UGA to win to get Florida 3 losses. #1, we need to not beat ourselves. lets do that and home Miami wins out and only 1/2 Acc teams get in. Chaos in Big 12 and ideally only 1 get it. ND gets blown out by miami and hopefully finishes 13 or lower. At this point Ohio St , Indiana and Ucla win out and get in but no other big 10 team gets in, so 3 from there. 1 small school. 4 from SEC get in. UGA at this point i hope wins out. thern we could have 2-5 3 loss Sec teams. we have the highest SOS if Ohio St wins out. long way to go but i am confident we will not take care of business 5 times.
  16. Anyone that plays Tech, so I can see Campbell freak out more on twitter/x and I can get a good laugh about them missing the playoffs with their cake walk of a schedule.
  17. Nice if the Big 12 winnows down to one strong team (preferably BYU or Utah) and the others near the top of the league lose at least two more games (Tech and Houston especially). Crazy that they have SIX teams in the Top 25 ... looking at their remaining schedules it's hard to see two more losses for most of them though. Would be bad if one Big 12 team has a strong season (say Utah goes undefeated or BYU wins out) but then loses the CCG and both teams get bids. Also need Kentucky and UCLA to start playing to form and lose a couple ... UCLA doesn't play another ranked team and could go undefeated with the win over Oregon their only real accomplishment. That's crazy. (Pretty confident Kentucky will drop a couple, but you never know)
  18. My niece was a scholarship athlete at Oregon. Graduated with a master's degree a couple of years ago. Is huge into sports. Works for a professional soccer team and is now trying to break into the NFL. I'd love to get her a job at UT in some kind of marketing capacity at the athletic department if it were possible. We talk sports all the time. Not just Oregon. All of college football. I told her when Lanning promoted Mehringer that was a terrible mistake, and he'd likely be a huge failure. It wasn't just his tenure at Texas. Heck, Herman ended up firing nearly all of his original assistants, which shows just how miserable that first staff ended up being. No, it was also his tenure at Rutgers, where he was literally the worst OC in the country. By far. The guy has been an abysmal failure at multiple stops. So how did he get the gig? Because he had the good fortune to be part of Lanning's first staff, and like many head coaches, Lanning believes in promoting from within. Given that Oregon falls a little behind in terms of paying competitive wages for a lot of their coaching staff, they've seen quite a few leave for lateral moves. Not that they're horribly under the market, but for a program that pays their head coach a premium wage, and has a roster payroll somewhere around $50 million, the assistants are often not paid at a commensurate rate. So you see them leaving for greener pastures on a semi regular basis. But Mehringer stayed, so as other coaches left, whether for lateral promotions or like Stein for head coaching opportunities, Mehringer moved up. I'm interested to see how Lanning handles this offseason.
