Incredible performance by Sam Cosmi
jhookem91 replied to camridleyfan's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Very impressive. If Cosmi keeps playing like this, he'll earn his first Pro Bowl selection (even though he probably deserved it in 2024 as well) and another, more lucrative contract extension. -

ESPN: Could the SEC get 6 teams in the CFP?

If Oregon isn’t careful they might be the 2025 Penn state of 2026 -
The environment in Oxford will be Knoxville 2021 on steroids, fully expect the unexpected

LSU vs Ole Miss is can't miss TV. I think LSU's a juggernaut, need them to pick up losses somewhere. If they get through Ole Miss, their chances at playing for an SEC championship sky rocket. Really hope Ole Miss comes out on top, but I think Kiffin eats them alive.

Oregon has to be one of the most disappointing teams in a long time. They have a lot of key players who returned and many think they have the best d line in the nation. They’ve given up 30+ to a G5 school and a bad Oklahoma State team. -
I think the Coogs shock the sand aggies. Kamario Taylor puts a nail in Beamer’s tenure. Ole Miss beats LSU. probably wishful thinking but a man can dream.

Kind of unreal how low the spread is for UNC and Clemson

This was what happened when Cig left JMU for Indiana. -
Watching a replay, I was surprised that all three of those runs on the goal line went right up the middle. I would have thought they would have gone behind Goosby and Coleman on the left side. Robertson's not known for his power, but he did the job on that last one. Also noticed that on the second and goal play, OSU had three guys coming around the left edge. They obviously thought Sark would try doing something wide, which has been his tendency. He went against his tendencies, as Rod has pushed for, and kept pounding the middle.

Brandon Jones picks off Patrick Mahomes
TTaylor2135 replied to Jeff Howe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I forgot he was on the Broncos tbh. I saw a pretty weak missed tackle on Walker by #22 and thought, hey at least it wasn't Jahdae. Turns out it was Jones lol. -

After seeing Cignetti make the playoffs and then when a title with essentially JMU players and the right portal adds it isn't that crazy honestly. -
I'm not ready to push any panic button yet with Wingo (disclaimer: not implying you or anyone else is). He's not even close to what Alabama is, and has experienced with Ryan Williams with the drops. It's definitely in that young man's head now. Definitely get your point though and have to tighten that aspect up with the entire team. Might need to implement "the Program" movie tactic of carrying the football to class/ everywhere, lol!

Penn State is very similar in that the majority of their transfers came from Iowa State with their head coach. Helps bringing a solid core of guys over that are familiar with your coaching philosophy and scheme. -
ESPN: Could the SEC get 6 teams in the CFP?
Jordan Scruggs replied to Jordan Scruggs's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Dining on Texas: "Nobody in the country has a better win, and it will continue to be valuable in the committee meeting room -- even more so if Ohio State wins the Big Ten. The victory over the Buckeyes had a huge impact on the Longhorns' strength of record metric, as the average playoff contender would have a 25% chance to start 2-0 against their schedule, giving Texas the best résumé in the FBS after two weeks. The question is whether Texas can sustain that success through what is currently the 12th-most-difficult remaining schedule, according to ESPN Analytics. ESPN's FPI says yes, as it projects the Longhorns to win every remaining game. No team currently has a better chance to reach the playoff (87.7%) or earn the No. 1 seed (36.7%)." -

Really impressive for the new coach to take a handful of guys from his successful North Texas team to okie state that had a terrible year last year and in game 2 top one of the top programs in college football with much deeper pockets, and a supposedly top qb pick in next years draft. hats off to them for sure but gah dang that makes Lanning and Oregon players look really bad for letting that game of all games upset them. gotta love college football

Gonna be really interesting to see how Oregon responds going forward. I watched almost the entire Oregon-OKST game and the score felt a lot closer than the game was. OKST should've won by more and it was kinda surprising they didn't. Piss poor effort from Oregon players on a fair amount of plays as well. And the Oregon staff had circles coached around them. If you told me the entire program (players and staff included) went out drinking the night before in Stillwater I'd believe you because that's how bad Oregon was all around. Just bad. Really bad -
Can we use Psychologist, Visualization to reduce ball drop and security?? Wingo ball drop has been noted by the OSU staff! (Per OSU you tube)

You look at Oregon and tOSU, and they have a series of play-ins the rest of the way. Oregon has (i) USC on the road, (ii) tOSU on the road, and (iii) Michigan at home. tOSU has (i) Indiana on the road, (ii) USC on the road, (iii) Oregon at home, and (iv) Michigan at home. Both can still get in, but you want to be the team with the better record in common games. -

Man all the love and attention Oregon got and how amazing their team is. To lose to Okie State is pretty pathetic. Considering all the amazing talent they have (not sarcasm, they have really good players).
