UMass starts the year 136th out of 136 (overall, and offensive and defensive with only special teams higher than 136th). It has always seemed more reactive than prospective to me. I get it's first game of new season, but maybe they should just wait until a few games have been played. All this to say . . . Texas is ranked too low!! 🤩

I am looking forward to the defense playing with more swagger and emotion under Coach Muschamp. He brings energy, enthusiasm and passion. Looking forward to the defense having a much more violent and aggressive approach. Big hits, helmets rolling, make teams scared to come into DKR with the thud they're willing to bring.

Very good test but there are better passing offenses ahead on the schedule. This better not be that difficult considering we should get some pressure on the QB. I think they will move the ball some for sure, 42-20 🤘🏽

If everyone is wondering if Muschamp’s pass defense is “ready,” we’re about to find out immediately. Texas State isn’t a fake test -- Brad Jackson and two 1,000‑yard wideouts will force Boom’s front and coverage to actually work together, something PK never consistently got done. This game won’t prove the defense is elite, but it will show whether Muschamp’s voice, his structure, and his secondary expertise are already cleaning up the explosives that killed us last year. If Texas handles Texas State through the air, that’s a strong first sign before Sayin, Jeremiah Smith, and Ohio State roll in. Texas State is about to FAFO with Boom’s defense. Hook ’Em.
