  1. Past hour
  2. 3 as far as the team, and it's not close Best two players at Texas I have seen (and Case Hampton may actually be third) VY and DJ ... make it easy. But then the other three make it a blowout winner
  3. She’s committing to South Carolina. So, ya, everyone is getting better but Texas.
  4. Given that WCBB loses money, how can teams be stupid enough to pay 500k for a player? Who makes these decisions?
  5. Tennessee is back in it for Oliviyah Edwards. Her camp is looking for $500,000. I expect her to go to the highest bidder.
  6. Today
  7. No way there's a bigger fan of our WBB program than you!!
  8. Maybe, but I haven't seen enough from him to suggest that is the case.
  9. I was frustrated too when the departures happened, but it’s really not doom‑and‑gloom. The portal deadline just means players had to enter by that date - they can still choose schools now. There are still plenty of proven players available, and Texas is an attractive landing spot with Booker, a top recruiting class, and a staff that wins. Would I prefer experienced portal players over more freshmen? Absolutely. And that’s exactly what the staff should be targeting. It’s not too late, and it’s not a failure - it’s just the new reality of roster building. I’m confident Texas will add the right pieces.
  10. I'll add that Freeman and Punch will be much better than Haugh this coming year. The media latches on to guys and refuses to admit the truth that actually plays out on the floor. Man for man, Texas is more talented than Florida. Johnson>Boogie, Goosby>Aberdeen, Freeman>Haugh, Punch>Condon, Matas>Chenyilu. That's five for five. We'll see if they can develop the chemistry to be a better team.
  11. Recruit(s)? So more freshmen?!? Texas needs more 1-2 portal players with experience, not more freshmen. This team is already too young.
  12. I first thought that when watching Swain against Florida and Haugh. I didn't want to admit it because it seemed crazy given that Pippen is one of the most underrated players ever. But facts be facts. Swain is quicker and handles, passes and shoots better than Pippen; he's just not as powerful finishing and defending, which are big components obviously.
  13. Funny, I almost added that if Swain got stronger he might approximate a Pippen.
  14. You got that right, Gerry. Yaxel is already 23 and maxed out. He doesn't have the quickness or offensive skill to make it big in the NBA. I'd described Swain as a Scottie Pippin with more offensive skill, but not as much strength and power defensively.
  15. Swain kicked Hough's ass head-to-head, with much more on his plate than Hough. Yep, he's been rising
  16. Yaxel is nuts ... NBA teams are rolling the dice picking him high in a draft
  17. Yes, that scenario can play out with a player and college.
  18. I hear you, but the scouting reports now say he was the best 1v1 player in CBB. It's based on his efficiency numbers when he touched the ball offensively. I didn't make that up.
  19. Mark it down boys. Swain will be a better NBA player than Wagler, Brown, Flemings, Yaxel, Burries, Philon, etc.
  20. While I doubt he was the "best" I completely agree with you that Swain has an excellent all around game. There is nothing he cannot do acceptably well. He should be a valuable sub for any team even as a rookie. Some guys, Dybantsa for example, are going to start as rookies.
  21. There's no way Swain isn't drafted. He's now being mocked 13-17. He's risen more than any player the last few weeks because NBA scouts stopped listening to talking heads and actually watched his tape against guys like Haugh, Dybantsa, Amari Allen, etc. What they found is that he was the best one-on-one player in CBB (yes, more efficient than Dybantsa and Peterson), and he has the best all around floor game of any of those guys.
  22. Theiretically....If Dylan Swain stays in the draft and doesn't get drafted, he can come back to Texas? Correct? As long as he does hire an agent right? That's pretty much what A&M is testing here the way I see it.
  23. I'm ALWAYS excited to get Looch's take on a sports item👀
  24. The good news here is that men's basketball should regain the spotlight in Austin next season.
  25. All fair points, however, there just comes a point that we have to move on. I am among the biggest fans of Longhorn women's hoops on here and was perplexed when the three entered the portal. But after a few days of doing my research, and a confidante within the program's analysis, I just figured it was time to focus on the positive. What are those? An amazing coaching staff, a head coach who wins, 5 incredible incoming recruits, and a rabid, loyal fan base. I am looking forward to next year. However, there still might be a surprise recruit or two knocking on our door.
