Have been meaning to join this site ever since Jeff Howe came over. With all the YouTube content, I assume you can give a one hour slot every week to Rod Jeff, and Matt Butler for the Blitz, right? I am a former non-football athlete, who did not grow up in an area where football was big, but knows a thing or two (or I’d like to think so) about sports. I never thought I would ever want to listen to a football podcast. When I switched over to driving to work during the pandemic and shifted away from public transportation, I picked up Longhorn Blitz. In a world where content is generally standardized (and shallow), the Blitz was something else. A show that did more - gave you the why and asked you to meet it where it was. You got the quantitative piece (and I don’t even buy into that much in sports), but the intangible pieces as well. Almost like a 60 Minutes of Longhorn football. And for the folks who would listen, like I would over the nearly handful of years I listened in the peace and quiet of my car, you got a football education. So, please bring it back - if only to add more perspectives and approaches to what you are doing here.

Welcome to the nations #1 defense Ohio State.

Horns should feel a little disrespected. From the hype video, you would think the only great player we have on our team is Arch.

I left a ton of names off this list and I'm not even sure that Filsaime is "that dude" so to speak. -

Texas is No. 1 in the preseason Coaches Poll
AusMOJO replied to Jeff Howe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I've no problem with it and it doesn't worry me. My only "problem" with it, is how does Ohio State, the national champion, not start at #1? That's how I think these polls should go. -

Venables/Nagy Situation at OU
harveycmd replied to All Gas No Brakes's topic in On Texas Football Forum
There's really no question that Nagy is in charge. He doesn't answer to Venables; he reports to Stephenson, who isn't even an official administrator. Nagy was the only GM at media days projecting himself as the man to speak for the program. That must have been Stephenson's decision. This is obviously the reason they're having such a hard time recruiting. Guys don't want to play in a program in which their coach doesn't run the show. Criminals can claim NFL model all they want. It's not the NFL. Players can go where they want. -

I really disagree with #4 Clemson. Not that special. And, the Longhorns had LSU on the ropes at DKR...third down and three miles to go. How did the Texas D let that happen? Regardless of Joe Burrow's talent. Admittedly I'm biased. But I have worked with CFB fans who didn't go to Texas. Several of those CFB fans know I am a Texas alum and they have told me they consider the Longhorns win over USC to be the greatest CFB game they have ever watched. And VY to be the greatest CFB player ever. I remember watching the tape of the broadcast and Keith Jackson said VY was the best he had ever seen.
