CHorn427 Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago (edited) Florida played 5 teams that are in contention for the CFP: @Miami vs Texas (true home game) @ TAMU vs UGA (neutral) @ Ole Miss These were all one score games in the 4th quarter. Which one doesn’t look like the other? Florida played 3 home SEC games and went 2-1, with a late loss to Tennessee after the team had already given up. Florida was a talented, capable team. Out of 5 good teams, they were due for one upset. We just happened to be the lucky team that caught them at the right time in the right conditions (no Muhammad, etc). Florida losing to USF also did not help. Florida truly was the most annoying team in CFB this year. Thanks Sun Belt Billy! Edited 15 hours ago by CHorn427 1 Quote
Moderators Jeff Howe Posted 11 hours ago Moderators Posted 11 hours ago There are a lot of similarities between post-Urban Meyer Florida and post-Mack Brown Texas. Sark has Texas in a good spot while Florida is about to be on its fifth coach since Meyer “retired” after the 2010 season. Florida doesn’t have a talent problem. It has a culture/alignment problem. 2 Quote

Strongly agree. I would also argue that Florida has an AD problem. That’s what saved Texas. Florida needs a better AD. But I’ll happily wait for them to realize that until they fall off our schedule for a couple of years. Quote
Glass Joe Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago One glimmer of hope for Texas regarding the Florida loss… It does help a bit that Florida blew out FSU on Saturday, since FSU beat Alabama by 14 points earlier in the season. Should Bama lose to UGA on Saturday (by 2-3 scores), it may help Texas if we’re compared to a 3-loss Bama with a “bad” loss to FSU. It offsets our “bad” loss to UF. Quote
AusMOJO Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Florida was relatively healthy as a team, had a chip on their shoulder and was playing for their season at that point still. It still doesn't justify us playing like absolute dog water in that game though or making Lagway look better than he is. Edited 2 hours ago by AusMOJO Quote
Here for the Wins Posted 46 minutes ago Posted 46 minutes ago Other notes or points of discussion. South Florida sent UF reeling. LSU got them at home and Lagway fell apart. Miami got them at their low point. The latter two games on the road. The week off prior to Texas allowed them to regroup and rally like they did last year. Manny was out and Wilson played for the first time. Their top 2 WRs versus us that accounted for 65% of their passing yards did not play versus Ole Miss. Wilson had about 20 snaps versus Georgia. Brown didn’t play versus Georgia. So, yes, their game versus Texas was very different from a timing, location and personnel standpoint. Quote
