I quite literally addressed that by repeating that WR needs to be upgraded. I think you are wrong. The staff clearly thinks you are wrong as well considering all of the reporting suggest that they will be looking for a WR in the portal. Quote

Allocate to the trenches and defensive depth. You absolutely can win it all next season with the receivers we have on this roster. You win upfront. Pretty simple. Maybe those skill guys will you to victory on occasion, but that’s where you need the most consistency. We have lost to OSU twice in the past year. It wasn’t the WRs that gave us the most issues. Is Cam good yes and I would say back up the brinks truck if that was the most important hole we had on offense. I would rather break the bank at OL and RB ahead of WR. And LB is a close third. 2 Quote

Deadhead_Horn Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I know its silly to say, "forget about the money," but Texas just needs to figure out how to make it happen. We continuously hear they are the richest athletic department in the country. They should leave absolutely nothing up for debate this season. If guys just don't want to come here, fine, but give the best offers to the Cam Colemans, Ryan Williams, and Jayden Baughs of the world. Quote

charlie990 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago probably doesn't make sense for us to go after Coleman but if it means keeping him away from aggy and bama it might be worth it Quote
Quinncent McManning, Jr. Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Would you rather pay Dallas Wilson $1.5 mil and have him for 2 years or Cam Coleman $2 mil for 1? Btw I’d be surprised it it’s not aggy for Coleman. If nothing else we should try to drive their price up Quote

If nothing else we should try to drive their price up Dallas Wilson battled 2 foot injuries this year only playing in 4 games and only had 12 catches(6 of those vs us). Give me Coleman for one year, easily. Edited 1 hour ago by FaxMachine 1 1 Quote

The problem with the Wilson line of thinking is that there will be another renegotiation next year. Quote

Moderators CJ Vogel Posted 1 hour ago Author Moderators Posted 1 hour ago My thing with A&M flirting with high dollar WR is pretty simple. Until they get a quarterback that’s able to consistently complete 10 yard passes, none of their moves mean anything to me. 15 2 Quote

I'm saying it isn't and shouldn't be a priority. You will/should upgrade that room solely with experience from existing players and the right fit with portal guys. That room didn't get upgraded from the previous season and it still isn't a glaring problem. The OL and an early season Arch was/is the problem. Arch was fixed. The OL with 4 new starters this season, mostly inexperienced, and a RB room that left a lot to be desired and not really a fit for the scheme are the biggest issues on the offense. Flashy, expensive wide receivers will do little to help the offense if you don't address the other problems by priority. 2 Quote
