Roy Hinojosa Posted 34 minutes ago Posted 34 minutes ago As of yesterday, Texas looked to have little to no chance getting into the CFP. However, this morning with Sark's politicking and with Bama switching up their non-conference schedule, it looks like the committee might breathe life into Texas. Thoughts? Quote

The one thing that I can see getting us in is the threat of pulling the big non conference games off of the schedule in the future and the cascade that could cause other teams to do the same Quote
MBHORNSFAN Posted 23 minutes ago Posted 23 minutes ago IMO we are out. Probably come in ranked 11th to 13th which will have us out.. Onward to 2026 2 Quote

You mentioned Sark's politicking. You mentioned Bama's switching its future non-con scheduled. You brought no evidence about how the committee is feeling about either of these things. Quote
Atxdubstep Posted 16 minutes ago Posted 16 minutes ago If somehow we are ahead of Miami tonight at 12, the dream stays alive. If we are 12 going into conf champ week, byu lose and Bama loses by 14 or more points then Texas could replace Bama and the SEC is still happy. Sec is worried that a Bama loss could put Miami in and cut the SEC to 4 teams in. Quote

Oskies1279 Posted 13 minutes ago Posted 13 minutes ago If Texas doesn't get in then I wonder if they'll start changing up their non con games as well. I wonder if any of the moderators have heard if Texas would look into changing those games based on the outcome of the playoff committee. Quote
4thandFive Posted 11 minutes ago Posted 11 minutes ago (edited) I play both sides of this. 1A- Don’t lose to Florida 1Aa- If we played Tarleton in Week 1 AND still lose to Florida, we’re #8 or something and golden. Edited 11 minutes ago by 4thandFive 2 Quote
Beast Texas Posted 9 minutes ago Posted 9 minutes ago We're out, but I love what Sark is doing right now. None of the other teams that are going to be outside looking in like we are are making as much noise. The only thing to do at this point is to burn it, and Sark is walking in to any house he can find with matches and a can of gas. 2 Quote

Thorn007 Posted 8 minutes ago Posted 8 minutes ago no chance. two of ou vandy or bama mia had to lose Quote
Hornio Posted 8 minutes ago Posted 8 minutes ago Here's the thing though. The committee could easily justify putting us in without having to admit that they messed up prior rankings by over-weighting the OSU loss - that's because we just beat the #3 undefeated team by 10. We are due for a big jump. The question is just how big a jump. If this noise was all coming without the A&M win, then the committee would have to admit defeat and change their philosophy - we made it easy on them if they want to do that but still save face. CageRader Posted 4 minutes ago Posted 4 minutes ago The timing of Alabama's changing their non-conference schedule is very good for our chances...I am not getting my hopes up, but I do think this will positively impact our position. Quote

One game versus possibly 3 at the end of the year. the committee will go against its rules if it leaves us out Edited 2 minutes ago by utx2 Spelling Quote
