A significant bonus to hiring WM, aside from taking the D up a notch in attention to detail and aggression, is an inside look at the UG defensive details and an opposing coach's scouting report on your offense. Both instrumental in defeating UG down the road, and critical information PK could never provide.

This is 100% correct. Georgia completely figured out Flood’s blocking schemes too, so I suspect it also is intended to revamp Texas’s o line philosophy (assuming Flood is retained).

I can’t take the PK slander. We are 34-8 the last three years. Over that span, the D has been more impressive than the O.

We can be excited for Muschamp, while recognizing PK did a great job.

Love PK, Longhorn legend. He was a HUGE part in bringing us back.
Excited to see what Muschamp brings to the table…this is a bold move. Love the fearlessness and cant wait to learn what other moves Sark has up his sleeve.

I don't think anyone has slandered PK. People are just noting he had some flaws and have differences of opinion on whether he is good, great, or elite.

And the concerns aren't new, nor are they different than fans have about a lot of really good defensive coordinators. All of the flaws being discussed are the same ones that people have complained about after every loss (or win that was too close).

At the end of the day, I think Sark just wanted to be more aggressive. PK is great, but I think he probably suffers with a little bit of Mack Brown's too scared to lose syndrome. And Sark has decided that to get over the hump (especially in the SEC), he needs someone more aggressive.
