With Beard there was a ton of energy and excitement.  The RT era destroyed all that. It will take some time. But this team is bad. Lets see where Miller is in a few years.

It’s honestly embarrassing that Texas went from sweet 16 being the bare minimum with Rick to being the 6th best program in its own state

A&M is the only other team with a first-year head coach in the sec this year. They’re 11-3 and actually look competent and will likely make the tournament. Sadly, they’re probably also going to break the streak of losing in Austin this season as  Texas will be lucky to win 3 sec games this season (they won 6 last year with a verifiably better HC)

At the time Gerry posted something that bears repeating. It was roughly twenty five million just to get Oats here. Then they have to get players.

Well they’re now $32 million in the hole for a coach that just showed us that he’s never taking Texas anywhere while he’s here, so maybe we sideline CDC for the next basketball hire when Miller inevitably flames out

If Texas can't step up from an NIL perspective, it won't matter who is coach at Texas in the future. That's a bottom line.

What does Texas really want to get from Texas men’s basketball?

Do they just want to make a profit or be a serious basketball program?

If they do want to be a serious basketball program, how do they think that works?

Who markets the team?

Are they going to spend money in the NIL needed to be a serious basketball program?

They don’t have enough family connections(Goosby, Ogden) to get players to lower their NIL prices. Men’s basketball doesn’t have a name that gets players here for discounted prices.

So Texas put nil behind Rodney Terry but not Sean Miller?

Because if they’re working with the same, then that’s even worse for Miller. To be this far behind RT is an indictment

Unfortunately texas has lost plenty already. And it was the second-easiest game on the schedule

can you find even 6 sec wins in the next 17 games? That would match their output from last year. 
 

tbh, I don’t think they win more than 4 league games this season. The top half of the league will do unspeakable things to these poor kids

I am not calling for Miller to be gone after one year. That’s insane. He needs to have this team up and running at the end of year two.

Yet each of the last 5 head coaches at Texas made the ncaa tournament their first year. Seems like miller is intent on setting all sorts of the wrong kind of history in his inaugural season

It's not about what you have, it's about where the NIL average spend has gone in hoops. 

Kentucky, Duke, Louisville and some others are about twice as much as Texas right now. Others are 60-70% more than Texas.

That's not an excuse for Texas players fouling on three freaking 3-pointers tonight too, however. Dumb plays that cost games.
