Sprinkle in a downfield wr and maybe another bruiser at RB, maybe another edge? I understand we have wiffed alot but it’s still early and have basically now and summer portal window to address the problems? I feel like we are in a decent spot? I’m sure both of u have elaborated on that already. Well, there is no summer portal window this year. This is the only chance essentially to get it right. Texas still needs another RB imo. Two linebackers and 2-3 offensive linemen. On top of a pass catcher. Lots of work to go. 3 Quote

You mentioned on live last night potentially adding a sledgehammer between the tackles back or it may have been @Jeff Howe. Are we talking like 6’+ and 210+ or just running style? Personally, I would like to see 215, because for the time being, I have no reason to believe the offensive line will be able to generate the push necessary on short distances. If that's going to be the case, I would like to know the RB can fall forward off of size alone and do the dirty work himself. 1 Quote

There’s an intriguing RB out of Kentucky with a big frame Donte Dowdell that catches my eye. But looking into it he’s transferred twice in 2 years. Quote

Now 2 Georgia 1 Oregon 1 Notre Dame o BYU 0 Miami 0 I guess all these teams the process is broken too.... Long way to go. Let’s see how it finishes before we meltdown.... And honestly if it goes bad Sark won't make it here. It really is that simple. I am win or GTFO fan.......No need is losing our minds every second.. I don’t like this laid-back attitude, to be honest Texas had a head start with NIL and the first few years of the portal we could get who we wanted. Now plenty of other teams have caught up and we let 4 seasons of 2 5 star quarterbacks with elite defenses pass us by. Quote

Hookem 78 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago One thought to throw out there. Texas has not lost a big game target because the money was not right. In most cases, they left money on the table and returned to their schools. That money is still in our pocket and available for plan B. It is gonna be alright folks. 2 Quote

Seems like we are less focused on retention, we might intentionally carry fewer scholarship players to have more money to fund the 2-3 deep directly. Less money on developmental guys than in the past. Which probably means bigger portal needs going forward. It seems like a step towards the Indiana/Ole Miss philosophy or an NFL philosophy. Since most of us think we were just 3-4 players away last year (RB, 2OL, and maybe a true no.1 WR), this is a relatively aggressive strategy of change more than a tweak. The guys have been saying all-in and this change does seem aggressive not cautious. And it's on top of letting PK go. Can't say it's bad or good yet IMO. Quote

What they are doing isn't any different than most programs. Look at the numbers teams like LSU, Georgia, Bama are bringing in from the portal. They won't be fully utilizing the 105 scholarships either. Quote
