What starting quality OL are still out there?

With Conner, Trevor, and Baker coming back, we have 3/5 starters. Texas brought in Dylan and still have Brooks to battle for one guard spot and if we get Bennett there's the other spot. Provided we get Bennett the key is going to be developing depth. I'm not as worried about the offensive line as I once was because schematically you can protect them. We couldn't do so this year because the run game was missing, we couldn't protect, and we didn't have anyone outside to threaten deep.

Sikorski is IOL depth & Brooks/ Bennet are both OT depth.  We need Bennet along with a starting level guard and tackle/ guard.  That would put us at 4 OL.

RG Bray Lynch (Westlake/Indiana, #63 ranked IOL in '22 behind Brunner, Neto, etc) caliber players may be out there in portalville. Funny that James Brockermeyer, on his 3rd school, will be starting on the other OL.  Someone just needs to want to block for Arch and get a bunch of scouts' eyes on himself for free. Hopefully it's not harder than that.

I think if Bennett plays with us he will most likely kick inside to guard. That’s where he projects in the NFL anyways so might as well get some snaps there in college. And I think he has the intelligence, size, and movement skills to compete for a starting spot at guard for us.

I agree; Sikorski is depth this year but may be a starter in 2027.  He has plenty of eligibility left.  We still do need  a starting Guard and Tackle/Guard.  Bennet may be the Tackle/Guard, maybe not.  A 4th OL would not hurt my feelings.

There are lots of good to great offensive guards still available.  My source tells me they have a list of 42 guys they are evaluating. Obviously, they want the top three. It just takes time. They are having conversations with agents or reps on a few already. Just a matter of time before they sign three of them.

third team all big 10 this year, coming from Ohio State. I’m really surprised we haven’t heard anything about him or that Texas wouldn’t be interested in him.

He already visited Auburn, Ole Miss, and Kentucky. How the hell have we not brought him in yet?

He apparently was their worst o-lineman on a meh line according to some Ohio state fans.
 

May be looking for a guaranteed starting role or a lot more money than he’s worth.

I’d bring him in to compete if both of the above aren’t true though

That’s all well and good, but I will take an experienced all big-10 level guard who started every game on their natty team. But I guess if the coaches haven’t pushed hard for him, maybe they like other guys better.
