Was it completely necessary to ruin my day?  Please don't start threads about the floodmaster.

1. Texas wins it all

2.  Spencer Shannon breaks out

3. Emmett Mosley will lead the WR room in touchdowns but be behind on yards to Coleman and Wingo

4. Jonah Williams and Xavier Filsaime take a huge leap

5. Offensive Line is the key to next years success (aka Joe Moore finalist)

6. Colton Vasek, Justus Terry, and Lance Jackson shine behind Simmons

7. Rasheem Biles is an all American

8. Wingo and Coleman both finish with 800+ yards and are 1st and 2nd team all American

9. Brown and Smothers eclipse 2200 yards

10. Michael Terry and Jermanie Bishop become a big factor in the return game

11. Tyler Atkinson and Richard Wesley breakout and put the country on notice

12. Arch wins the heisman and breaks borrows records solidifying the greatest season ever

Muschamp's defense holds aggy and OU to under 10 points in those games.

Texas D gets four sacks on Julian Sayin.

Mateer throws a pick six to McDonald, Biles or Smith.

Fans boo and shoot the finger at Parker Livingstone.

Bold prediction: Texas misses the playoffs.

It's a tough schedule, and we will likely have to be ranked top 10 to qualify. Very plausible that the '26 team is significantly "better" than the '25 team but also misses the playoffs and has a similar (or even worse) final record. Not a take I consider "bold" (not here to police, just sharing my opinion) but an under-discussed observation. I'd put the chances we make the playoffs next year at 65%.

I don't think this is a really bold prediction, but mine is if Texas loses to Ohio State, they will lose at least two more games in the regular season and miss the CFP for the second season in a row.  If they beat Ohio State, they will go undefeated in the regular season, win the SEC Championship and have an Indiana esque run in the CFP on the way to a 16-0, Arch Manning Heisman Trophy, and national championship season.  Texas will have a top 5 offense for the first time in the Sark era and average over 40 points per game in 16 games.

I love a conditional prediction! Heck yeah.

It is difficult though: consider the Oregon at Penn St game in Week 5... even that far into the season, we thought that Oregon win at Happy Valley meant one thing... but it meant something very different by the end of the season. And that was Week 5. Much less Week 2. Obviously pumped for the game, but cautious about hanging such a bold conditional on one result that early into a season when we won't truly know how to interpret the result.

TLDR: I do think your prediction is quite "bold"!

Got a feeling the last one is going to be one of the biggest points of improvement for Sark during the offseason.

It needs to be if Sark wants to get over the hump. Everything else will fall into place if it is. 🤘

I'm putting a lot of stock into the Ohio State game because in Sark's first five seasons as Texas' HC, the result of their major noncon game has been a strong indicator of how their entire season will go.

2021 - @ Arkansas, got trounced, finished 5-7

2022 - vs Alabama, much better effort, but still lost, finished 8-5

2023 - @ Alabama, biggest win of the Sark era imo, propelled them to an 11-1 regular season, winning the Big XII, and making the last 4 team CFP

2024 - @ Michigan, destroyed them in the Big House, once again finished 11-1 in the regular season, had the best SEC regular season conference record, played for an SEC Championship in their first season in the conference, make it to the Semis once again

2025 - @ Ohio State, lost a close game, finished the regular season 9-3 (10-3 after winning their bowl game).  Not as bad of a season as 2021 and 2022, but did not make the SEC Championship game or the CFP

So based on those results, I put more stock into the result of that game than most because I believe momentum and swagger are real in college football.
