Jim Bertelsmann replaced Gilbert. Ted Koy was in the original 1968 wishbone backfield

True, original wishbone was Koy, Worster, and Gilbert.  1969 Champs were Bertelsen, Worster, and Koy.

That 1968 team was pretty awesome by the end of the season.  A lot of great players in their last season such as Chris: teammates like Bill Bradley, Corby Robertsen, Loyd Wainscott, Deryl Comer (injured & returned a little in 1970), Ken Gidney, Danny Abbott, Denny Aldridge and others I'm forgetting.  But that team blew aTm's socks off (defending SWC Champs with a lot of returners and monkey stomped Tennessee in the Cotton Bowl.

Last time we played Tennessee. Happened to be my first Cotton Bowl. I was 9. My seat was in front of Tommy Nobis. He and his buds smoked the biggest cigars I'd ever seen. Had that team started the season in the wishbone, they'd probably have gone undefeated.
