OTF Premium Baseball Game Thread: No. 4 Texas vs. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

As is the case with the Tuesday game this season, I'll be on the livestream starting at 7 p.m., so I won't be providing my usual commentary.

Regardless, Texas and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi are underway, and it's not a good start for the Longhorns. Michael Winter got the start and allowed two singles, walked a batter and gave up an RBI single.

The Islanders have a 1-0 lead with the bases loaded and no outs in the top of the first.

Winter left the game without recording an out.

Texas trails 2-0. TAMUCC has runners on first and second with no outs and Max Grubbs is on the mound.

Grubbs successfully fields a bunt attempt and goes to first base for the out.

Winter coming in to start walking 2 and giving up 2 hits against A&M CC is just what I needed 🙄🙄. I was hoping to see this team give some BTA got my hopes up and should’ve remembered Tarelton.

Mendoza drew a leadoff, four-pitch walk, stole second on a poor throw from the catcher and reached third on an error.

Tinney was hit by a pitch, making it first and third with no outs for Robbins.

Yeah the bullpen has been thin and painful at times. But can't disagree harder about "complete redo." Our freshman pitching class of Cozart, Crossland, Winter, and even Walls is second to absolutely no one; and that's after Volantis in Jim and Max's first year last year. We're a top 5 pitching staff right now, with the best freshman pitching class in the nation, so that's only going to become more of a strength as the Pierce holdovers turn over and we don't have to throw portal darts at hit-or-miss guys like Burns and Higgins. Complete redo is... an overreaction.

Yeah I over exaggerated a bit.

I wish Schloss brought in more left handed pitchers that can spin the ball like he did at A&M and with Volantis. Outside of a few guys, we either have no control or no spin out of the bullpen.

Schloss talked a lot about lefty freshman Jack McKernan in the fall and preseason. So much that I expected he'd contribute this year. But nary a pitch thrown and I haven't heard anything on him

And our hitting was never even good enough to make it up the cliff to begin with.
