LonghornFan4Ever Posted Thursday at 11:18 PM Posted Thursday at 11:18 PM SEC on CBS was never the same after Verne Lundquist retired, despite Brad Nessler being a good announcer. SEC on CBS peaked for me when it was Verne Lundquist and Todd Blackledge. Verne was still in his prime and Todd was so much better than Gary at breaking down the game. Verne’s last 5 or 6 years were rough to listen to as he had lost his fastball at that point. 8 2 Quote

I'm so old... when I was a little kid, I remember Verne Lundquist was the sports director for WFAA-TV Ch 8 ABC in Dallas. SEC was better on CBS before ESPN got it and applied the Disney treatment.
