Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted May 7 Author Moderators Posted May 7 Really interested to watch it play out. Anything can happen in recruiting, but it feels like Florida has a better shot than LSU right now. We shall see when it ends up because NIL is a great equalizer, but Florida is probably a little more of the threat right now. Texas is in very good spot still. The OV's will be the next key piece, obviously. 28 Quote

Quinncent McManning, Jr. Posted May 7 Posted May 7 It doesn't look like we have really put much NIL force into the recruiting pool yet this year. I can't imagine we would lose an NIL battle to Florida for a WR. LSU is the one that is scary but I doubt we would lose an NIL battle there.. if we were to somehow you better believe Sales would be on line #1 with a new offer. 1 1 Quote
SuperDave0805 Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I understand its mostly about money these days but damn a WR should look at the large difference in QB talent at Texas compared to Florida 2 1 Quote

It’s the known …. Scheme, QB stable, WR development It will still likely be LSU that makes the real run at Texas IMO 9 Quote

TexasFanatic Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Him, Camara, and Meredith are the most important recruits this cycle. All three have top 5 (10) NFL draft pick potential. Camara is the best OT prospect the state if Texas has had since Leonard Davis. Mic Drop 5 Quote
Run pass option Posted May 7 Posted May 7 @Gerry Hamilton I watched some Easton Royal tape. My player comparison is Joey Galloway. What are your thoughts on my player comp? 1 Quote

Mic Drop Kelvin Banks, Summer Creek HS - do you think Camara is THAT good? Why? I know he is a highly regarded prospect, but how can one know that even a 5* HS offensive lineman will be an All American and successful NFL player? The world is full of can't miss offensive linemen who missed, and developmental offensive linemen who hit. If you are relying on your own first hand observations of these players - if you are a coach who has watched and/or scouted offensive linemen for many years - I will take your assessment very seriously. If not, I will just hope Camara lives up to his billing and comes to Texas. 3 Quote

Only way to drive price up is competition. Sumral does not have anywhere near the skins on the wall that Kiffin has. Baton Rouge is the crib for that kid. At the end of the day, I think he stays home, for the most money, with an offensive genius every bit as proven as Sark, and where all his people can watch him play. But its gonna cost them. 3 1 1 Quote
Colby TS Posted May 7 Posted May 7 (edited) @Gerry Hamilton Do you ever have players reach out to you with comments or input, positively or negatively, after you’ve made/posted a video about them? Just curious how active those conversations are behind the scenes. Obviously I’m sure it differs from player to player. Edited May 7 by Colby TS 1 Quote

akhookem Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Nowadays it’s like you feel like you’re 2nd or 3rd in a recruitment when the guy is committed to you early lol. It feels inevitable for a flip on some guys. Quote

Extremely gifted athlete and frame. He has a chance to be an Olympic athlete as well. He also has good tape. My comp is a poor mans Larry Allen. Yes he will have to get developed and that is a BIG if given our OL coach. This isn’t that serious. Great player Edited May 7 by TexasFanatic 2 1 Quote
Hookem72 Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I am not a flood fan, but I do have to say he has done a pretty good job of developing three star talents. My disconnect is how some Oline coaches (Georgia/Miami/BlowU) get good production out of freshmen. They are developing them different or recruiting them differently than Flood. It will be very interesting to see how Ojo develops. Maybe Oline divas can be a thing, but as unit oriented as Olines are, I dont see it. Very hard to say a 6’6 300 pound 17 year old is going to have the work ethic and drive to become a round 1 talent. A kid with a chip on his shoulder who mans up between the ages of 18-21 is more likely to be a stud olineman than a diva out of high school. The poor man Larry Allen comment show it. Sonoma State. Erik Williams. Some BFE Ohio college I can’t even remember. Maybe those days are dead and gone, but I don’t know if the juice is worth the squeeze to pay a freshman olineman 3-5 mil. 2 Quote
