Moderators Hank South Posted May 7 Moderators Posted May 7 The Texas contingent making its way along the West Coast (Muschamp, Nansen, Clark, Baker, etc.) stopped in to see 5-star ATH and USC commit Honor Fa'alave-Johnson on Wednesday, a source tells OTF. Fa'alave-Johnson is ranked the No. 1 athlete in the county (recruited at safety by Texas). He committed to the Trojans in March ahead of originally planning to visit Texas on March 27. The source tells OTF there is no plans to visit Austin "at this time." However, this marks the second time the Longhorns staff has travelled to San Diego to see the five-star prospect. We're seeing the Longhorns dot all their i's and cross all their t's in pursuit of the safety position. This is part of that. 20 1 Quote

Moderators CJ Vogel Posted May 7 Moderators Posted May 7 He’s one of them ones! Special talent. 4 Quote
Danimal Posted May 7 Posted May 7 5-star talent at a position where he at least can be in the two-deep with legit playing time next year? Sounds like a scenario where Texas will be a little extra aggressive with NIL 2 Quote
817 Boxing B Posted May 7 Posted May 7 I'm thinking about how these visits play out when it comes to the portal. If and when it doesn't work out at USC.... guess who'll be sitting in the cat bird's seat? Definitely want him in the class, but this reminds me of Bobby's "long game" quote he always references when we talk about recruiting. 2 Quote

It's chess not checkers. 2 Quote
NothinButDaHorns34 Posted May 7 Posted May 7 NIL sure has leveled the playing field for underachieving coaches and programs. This kid prolly wouldn’t be committed to USC without NIL. Five star defensive players DO NOT develop under a lincoln riley ran program. 1 Quote
Deep in the heart Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Love this update. I hope we stay after him aggressively. With the way Jonah's career has started, I think this guy is worth staying on with the full court press. 2 Quote

The "environment" here, outside of football, doesn't really vibe with a West Coast upbringing, IMO. I understand the opportunity available at UT... but if I grew up out there, I wouldn't wanna leave for Texas either, tbh.🤷🏿♂️ Either way... we'll get the guys we need. Quote
