Moderators Jeff Howe Posted 6 hours ago Moderators Posted 6 hours ago The CBS Sports staff has Sark at No. 6, one spot behind Dan Lanning and one spot ahead of Mario Cristobal. Too high? Too low? Fair? Quote

I think if you just slide them both up ahead of Lanning, then it looks good. Sark vs Lanning could be a good debate but I don't feel too strongly either way. 1 Quote

HonkEm Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago If Cristobal is ahead of Sark, then we’re grading vibes, not coaching. Sark’s the only one in that group who’s proven he can build and sustain a playoff‑level program. Lanning’s good, but he’s still in the ‘almost’ tier. DeBoer at Bama is a guess. Sark’s the resume. 2 Quote

But Cristobal has done it exactly once and been a pretty big failure otherwise. Sark has done big things more consistently. Edited 2 hours ago by Bunk Moreland 1 Quote

It’s just me if you took your team to the title game you have to be higher than lanning and sark Quote
Tres Comas Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago There’s the top 3 and then 4 thru 8 could be listed in any order. 2 Quote

I think you’ve gotta at least get to the playoffs multiple times to be above Sark. Quote

Paul Jespersen Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I have no problem with the list or any of the tweaks above, but I also wouldn't trade Sark for anyone on the list. Fit and temperament and style, time and place. A NC or two and he'll quickly ascend that list as well. 🤘 Quote
Paul Jespersen Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I also am not fully bought on Cignetti either... I'd have Kirby and probably Day over Cignetti personally. I think that's recency bias and flavor of the month at work... Not saying he isn't good, but Let him do it again then we can talk... wouldn't really want him at Texas either, but that's just me. #teamSark 🤘 3 Quote

Sark has won a conference championship and been to another, and been to two CFP semifinals at Texas. Cristobal won two conference titles at Oregon and zero at Miami, and has been to the playoffs once (title game). Freeman has won zero conference titles (obviously) and has been to the playoffs once (title game). Why is it so obvious that those coaches belong above Sark? You’re saying that getting to the title game should trump all other accomplishments—so, again, these coaches should be on the same level as Sonny Dykes. Otherwise you’re just quantifying it according to the eye test. Quote
